In the beginning GOD made man. "Then God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth." B'resheet (Genesis) 1:26.
Notice that it is written that in the beginning GOD made humankind in HIS likeness. We are not GOD but made in the likeness of GOD. In the same manner YHWH made HIMSELF in the likeness of a human being to reunite humanity unto HIMSELF after the fall of Adam.
People may ask, "Why did GOD choose to become flesh and blood for the salvation of humankind?" YAH made Adam from dust. The life force of humankind is blood. "Just take care not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you are not to eat the life with the meat." D'varim (Deuteronomy) 12:23.
Yes, the life force of humankind (BLOOD) had to return back to the dust, meaning dust from the ground from which humankind was formed, to remove away the impurity of sin. This blood had to be pure without spot or blemish or else the sin would remain. Humans cannot be saved by the blood of bulls and goats. Only the holy, pure and anointed blood of YHWH can cleanse humanity from sin.
The question arises, "But YHWH is a Spirit, how can YHWH who is a Spirit shed HIS pure & holy blood for the salvation of humanity? YAH in HIS infinite grace and mercy planned to come down from heaven in the likeness of a human being as the suffering Savior so that HE could pour out HIS PURE & HOLY blood on Calvery to condemn sin in human nature to reunite humanity back to HIMSELF. This is the mystery of salvation.
Prophecies in the Torah about YHWH's Plan for Salvation:
"In the course of time Kayin brought an offering to ADONAI from the produce of the soil; and Hevel too brought from the firstborn of his sheep including their fat. ADONAI accepted Hevel and his offering but did not accept Kayin and his offering. Kayin was very angry, and his face fell." B'resheet (Genesis) 4:3-5.
Why was ADONAI so pleased with Hevel's (Abel's) offering
& not Kayin's? ADONAI was pleased with Hevel's offering because it was the firstborn of his sheep. Being the firstborn of the sheep, represents an animal sacrifice without spot or blemish. This pleased YHWH because it was a foreshadowing and prophecy of the sacrifical death Mashiach YESHUA.
The story of Kayin (Cain) and Hevel is the first time the sacred scriptures mention an animal sacrifice. YHWH, even in the Garden of Eden, was letting humanity know how HE would reunite us to HIM.
"He must bring a ram without defect from the flock, or its equivalent according to your appraisal, to the cohen for a guilt offering; the cohen will make atonement concerning the error which he committed, even though he was unaware of it; and he will be forgiven. It is a guilt offering. He is certainly guilty before ADONAI." Vaykira (Leviticus) 5:18-19.
"For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for yourselves; for it is the blood that makes atonement because of the life." Vayikra (Leviticus) 17:11
ADONAI's requirement in the Torah of bulls, goats & rams without blemish for a sin offering is a powerful revelation about YHWH's plan for salvation! YHWH was giving the Israelites a clandestine message about HIS plan for salvation, which is the sacrificial death of HIS only begotten SON, YESHUA, who is without spot or blemish.
GOD is GOD. He knew that man would fall before HE created man. Therefore, GOD had a master plan for the salvation of man before man was even created. There is no greater love than this! GOD knew before the foundation of the world that HE would take on the likeness of a human being to save humanity! "No one has greater love than a person who lays down his life for his friends." Yochanan (John) 15:13.
"For a child is born to us, a son is given to us; dominion will rest on his shoulders, and he will be given the name Pele-Yo'etz El Gibbor Avi-'Ad Sar-Shalom [Wonder of a Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace], in order to extend the dominion and perpetuate the peace of the throne and kingdom of David, to secure it and sustain it through justice and righteousness henceforth and forever. The zeal of ADONAI-Tzva'ot will accomplish this." Yesha'yahu (Isaiah) 9:6-7.
Who else is the Father of Eternity & MIGHTY GOD but the Holy One of Isra'el, YHWH? No one! Therefore, this child that was born must be ADONAI Tzva'ot in the likeness of a human being. Yesha'yahu 9:6 is a poignant prophecy about the birth & divine nature of Mashiach YESHUA.
"Who believes our report? To whom is the arm of ADONAI revealed? For before him he grew up like a young plant, like a root out of dry ground. He was not well-formed or especially handsome; we saw him, but his appearance did not attract us. People despised and avoided him, a man of pains, well acquainted with illness. Like someone from whom people turn their faces, he was despised; we did not value him. In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God. But he was wounded because of our crimes, crushed because of our sins; the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him, and by his bruises we are healed. We all, like sheep, went astray; we turned, each one, to his own way; yet ADONAI laid on him the guilt of all of us. Though mistreated, he was submissive. He did not open his mouth. Like a lamb led to be slaughtered, like a sheep silent before its shearers, he did not open his mouth. After forcible arrest and sentencing, he was taken away; and none of his generation protested his being cut off from the land of the living for the crimes of my people, who deserved the punishment themselves. He was given a grave among the wicked; in his death he was with a rich man. Although he had done no violence and had said nothing deceptive, yet it pleased ADONAI to crush him with illness, to see if he would present himself as a guilt offering. If he does, he will see his offspring; and he will prolong his days; and at his hand ADONAI's desire will be accomplished.
After this ordeal, he will see satisfaction. By his knowing pain and sacrifice, my righteous servant makes many righteous; it is for their sins that he suffers. Thus,I will assign him a share with the great, he will divide the spoil with the mighty, for having exposed himself to death and being counted among the sinners, while actually bearing the sin of many and interceding for the offenders." Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 53:1-11.
"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, YESHUA died for the ungodly." Romans 5:6.
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." Romans 4:25.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." Yochanan (John) 3:16-17.
My point from the beginning, we are made in the image of GOD, in the likeness of GOD. Does this make us GOD? Of course not! Likewise, GOD came down from heaven in the image of man, in the likeness of a humang being. Is GOD human? Of course not!! GOD in the likeness of a human being, YESHUA, was like us only physiologically. When YESHUA MESSIAH walked the earth as the suffering Savior, HE still had the fullness of the SPIRIT of RUACH HAKODESH, which is HIS SPIRIT.
Who is YESHUA? YESHUA is the WORD of GOD. How does this make YESHUA one with GOD? Are not the words that proceed from your mouth a part of you? Are not the words that you give forth a reflection of your thoughts? Are you not what you think? Likewise, YESHUA being the WORD of GOD, meaning the very thoughts of GOD, must be the physical manifestation of GOD.
"For just as rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return there, but water the earth, causing it to bud and produce, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so is my word that goes out from my mouth - it will not return to me unfulfilled; but it will accomplish what I intend, and cause to succeed what I sent it to do." Yesha'yahu (Isaiah 55:10-11)."MY Word" in Yesha'yahu 55:11 is MASHIACH YESHUA!
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing made had being." Yochanan (John) 1:1-3.
"The Word became a human being and lived with us, and we saw his Sh'khinah, the Sh'khinah of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth." Yochanan (John) 1:14
Human being in Yochanan 1:14 should accurately read "in the likeness of a human being". This is a big difference and should be clarified to fully understand the physical nature of YESHUA MESSIAH. This scipture was quoted from the Complete Jewish Bible. The authors who wrote the Complete Jewish Bible derive their knowledge of the fulfillment of the Torah, YHWH's plan for salvation, from the Christian New Testament.
The Christian Bible reads John 1:14 as such, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The accurate description of the physical nature of YESHUA MESSIAH can be found in Romans 8:3.
"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" Romans 8:3 (KJB).
"For what the Torah could not do by itself, because it lacked the power to make the old nature cooperate, God did by sending his own Son as a human being with a nature like our own sinful one [but without sin]. God did this in order to deal with sin, and in so doing he executed the punishment against sin in human nature," Romans 8:3 (CJB).
Again, remember YESHUA was never human! YESHUA WAS MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF HUMAN FLESH!
YESHUA MESSIAH was not murdered! YESHUA MESSIAH IS YHWH's plan for salvation and was in the foreknowledge of YHWH before the foundation of the earth. Amen.
The Torah's commandment that a ram without blemish was the only acceptable sin offering is a powerful foreshadowing about YHWH's plan for salvation! YHWH was giving HIS chosen people, the Israelites, a clandestine message about HIS plan for salvation, which is the sacrificial death of YESHUA. The sacred scriptures of Jews, Christians and Muslims all contain the Torah with this clandestine message.
GOD commanded in the Torah that blood sacrifices be made only at the holy Temple in Jerusalem.
"Be careful not to offer your burnt offerings just anywhere you see, but do it in the place ADONAI will choose in one of your tribal territories; there is where you are to offer your burnt offerings and do everything I order you to do." D'varim (Deuteronomy) 12:13-14.
There are no animal sacrifices today. Animal sacrifices ended after the destruction of the second Temple 40 years after the death of Yeshua Messiah. Yeshua Messiah predicted the destruction of the second Temple before HIS death.
'As Yeshua came out of the Temple, one of the talmidim said to him, "Look, Rabbi! What huge stones! What magnificent buildings!" "You see all these great buildings?" Yeshua said to him, "They will be totally destroyed, not a single stone will be left standing!"' Mark 13:1-2.
There was no longer a need to offer a ram without blemish as a sin offering, which was a prophetic message sent to GOD's chosen people about ADONAI Tzav'ot's plan for salvation. Glory Hallelujah! It was completed by the sacrificial death of Yeshua Messiah. Yeshua Messiah knew why the second Temple would be destroyed. It was destroyed so that no more sin sacrifices would be offered up to YHWH because GOD's plan for salvation was completed with the death of YESHUA.
The third Temple will be rebuilt before the return of YESHUA MESSIAH and HIS return will be soon! This time there will not be any sin offerings.
Shalom beautiful children of ADONAI Tzva'ot.
