You’ve head it so many times, “You are what you eat.” but have you ever really thought about what it means? And do you remember to think about it when you’re making your ever more important food choices at the shop? There's no way around it, you need to eat organic food for good health. The ever increasing levels of pesticides and toxic chemicals that are on so called conventional food are unacceptable. We need to eat cleanly and in this modern world, this means eating organic foods. In many ways, we sure do become what we eat, literally. Did you know that your blood plasma (usually being a clear liquid) becomes cloudy with the fat and cholesterol that’s absorbed from eating a fatty hamburger? Did you know that more than 90% of the soy in the USA is genetically modified? Did you know that over time pesticides build up a reside in your body? I hate the sound of that and it's probably because the scant long term studies that have been done on pesticide residues in the body, don't look good. When we switch from eating conventional food 'products' to an organic based diet we are less prone to cancer, some allergies disappear, and a host of other health benefits await the organic eater. The biggest bonus of eating organic foods for me is knowing that these pesticide residues aren't in my body. Also, the more organic food we eat, the less 'conventional' food will be demanded, therefore more organic food be grown. If you have a family history of high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure or other genetic diseases, then it’s particularly important you to revise your eating habits. Moving towards a more vegetarian diet has proved to reduce the incidence of so many of the diseases of the so called 'first world' countries. Organic eaters are statistically healthier than non organic eating people; they’re leaner and live longer and organic foods vastly reduce your exposure to pesticides and other chemicals. Isn’t it time to think about the health of your and your family, and to start eating organic accordingly? Do you want to be sluggish, with low energy, fat and lazy? Do you want the risk that goes with eating mass produced food products, with their high fat content and high fructose sugars? Or would you prefer a cleaner mind and body, living the organic lifestyle? It’s never too late to change what you’re doing and increase your chances for a longer, healthier and fitter life. Go organic today!
