Did you have a dream of what you wanted to do when you grew up? Did you live these dreams through your imagination and make believe play as a child. Are you living those dreams now? Unfortunately when we grow up those dreams seem impossible, and we end up doing things that are far from where we dreamed we would be. How does that happen? Often it is because self doubt and a low self esteem keep us prisoners. Many people don't fulfill their dreams because they don't feel as they are good enough to get there. They are not really failures, but that is what they believe to be true.
If your self esteem is holding you back from fulfilling your dreams, then the way out is to start to build your self esteem. You can start moving to where you want to be, by setting small goals to start moving you there. As you start to achieve those small goals you will find that your self esteem starts to grow.
Where Do You Want To Be?
Have you always dreamed of going for a cruise vacation, and the only vacations you have had are camping by the lake? All hope is not lost. You might think that cruise vacation is impossible now, but that couldn't be further from the truth. What you need to do is build your self esteem and start achieving small goals until you reach your main goal of that cruise. Believe that you can have your dream and start working towards it. Your first goal then, and the one that will start to build boost self confidenceas well as achieve that dream might be to open a special savings account.
Although your main goal would be to go on that cruise, break down that large goal into smaller achievable steps. Celebrate every time you achieve those smaller steps, and you will find your self esteem start to grow as you discover what you are capable of and get closer to your ultimate goal. Smaller goals to boost self confidence might be getting a better job so that you can save, and reading about and finding information about where you might eventually like to travel on the cruise. It is amazing how when you start visualizing your dream coming true, things begin to fall into place that will make that dream a reality. The main thing to keep in mind is not to overwhelm yourself by concentrating on the bigger goals. Set and attain the smaller ones and you'll see that you will start increasing your self esteem
Make A List
Make a list of these goals to boost self confidence. Whenever you achieve a goal, cross it off your list and move onto the next one. Just make sure you break your bigger goals into smaller, more manageable goals. Eventually, you'll see that your list is getting smaller and smaller. If you keep to this, and you work constantly on building self esteem, you'll see that in no time you'll be much closer to completing your bigger goal. Writing goals down and crossing them off when you have attained them will give you a great sense of accomplishment.
Then, in five years, or even sooner, you'll be closer to being where you've always wanted to be. You'll have built your self esteem so that you feel as though you can accomplish anything. That's how you build self esteem and that's how you fulfill your dreams.
