Staying In Hotels- The Feng Shui Way

Traveling and visiting new parts of the world is something that most of my clients love to do. Yet, having a restful stay and sleep in a hotel is not always that easy to accomplish. Try the following Feng Shui tips to assist you in feeling at home and comfortable in your new hotel environment.
1. Scent- First, open the window (if you can) and lightly spray the hotel room with a favorite scent that you brought from home. You can also now buy ‘sage’ in a spray form. You may want to try this. Another option is to buy a scented candle. They now come in travel tins and are very convenient. Making the room feel (and smell) like it is ‘yours’ is very important.
2. Mirrors– If a mirror is directly facing the bed, cover it with a towel or extra sheet. Mirrors have lots of energy and will interrupt your sleep.
3. Clothing– UNPACK YOUR SUITCASE IF YOU ARE IN THE HOTEL FOR MORE THAN 2 NIGHTS! Living out of a suitcase gives us a very rushed, ungrounded feeling. The first thing I do when I enter a hotel room is to unpack and ‘claim the space’.
4. The Little Extras– Bring, or buy, anything that really makes you feel relaxed and ‘at home’. One client, always has fresh flowers in her home. When traveling, she buys one pretty flower and places it in a the hotel room water glass. I bring my own pillow to ensure a good night’s sleep. You could also pack a picture of your husband/wife, children or even the family dog!
Rest, relax and enjoy your travels, the Feng Shui Way!
