Attitude Adjustment To Gratitude
By Robin Skeen

Your attitude affects your overall quality of life in a very powerful way. It affects your relationships, career and your finances. Most people notice when they adjust their attitude, everything else in life seems to improve. Practicing gratitude on a daily basis is a simple way to have an attitude adjustment that is pretty pain free. It is really difficult to be negative when your mind set is focused on being grateful. It is almost impossible to feel depressed or frustrated. Negative and positive cannot exist at the same time, they push each other away.
Try some of these suggestions to improve your attitude through gratitude:
1) Gratitude can be used to block negative feelings. Do you ever just get into a "mood" and not know why? Maybe you woke up one morning and realized you had little interest in life and all the pep was gone. Finding something to be grateful for can turn this around in a short time. Find something, no matter how small! Focus on that one little thing as often as possible throughout the day, especially when you are reminded of the lack of zest in your life. Your attitude will shift almost instantly when you let gratitude flow throughout your being.
2) As difficult as this may be at times, start appreciating the people around you. If you have a pesky coworker, find something about that person that you are grateful for and pay attention to that when you start to get frustrated. Everyone has negative and positive personal attributes. Remember that whatever energy you put out comes back to you. If you are putting out vibrations of gratitude, the positive energy will bring more for which you can be grateful. Focusing on someone else's positive traits changes how you interact with them and benefits everyone involved.
3) With the assistance of gratitude, you can become an optimist. Sometimes that would be hard to believe about some folks we know. You know them, they are the ones who always expect the worst, always doom and gloom. If you are in that mind set, you can choose to switch into gratitude mode. When the negative thoughts you say to yourself catch your notice, turn them in to positive statements. Stop immediately and do this. It will eventually get easier and become a part of your new thought process.
Don't get discouraged if you cannot see results right away when you start shifting your attitude. It does take practice and focus to achieve the big differences you will have in your state of mind. You will feel much lighter and happier as you continue to find things to be grateful for along your journey.
