This bootcamp is designed to help you gain insight into who you are, and help you determine the best approach to improve your life.
The subjects of Belief, Confidence and Courage are a crucial part of the self-improvement process, and ones that I hold particularly near and dear to my heart.
Candidly, this Boot Camp wouldn’t exist if I hadn’t believed in myself. Neither would my books, and neither would SelfGrowth.com.
There was a period in my life where I had two extremely time-consuming jobs – one was my full-time job, while the other was maintenance of SelfGrowth.com and of my whole Self Improvement business.
Needless to say, it was a difficult juggling act to manage, and that’s not to mention that I had my family to care for, as well. But something kept me going – the belief that I was doing the right thing, both professionally and personally.
And that belief helped me get to where I am today. And now that I know I *can* succeed if I persist enough, it’s opened the door to be successful in other areas of my life.
Let me go back to something I mentioned in Day Seven. I mentioned that one way to become more persistent is to watch people who already *are* persistent and copy their behavior. You can do the same thing here – observe people who believe in themselves, who are confident in their actions and words, and who have the courage to do things they might not necessarily be comfortable doing in the first place.
Start adopting the behavioral patterns of the people who observe – in doing so, you’ll find that you’ve already started to replace the doubts that you once had with strong personal beliefs.
Positive self-talk also helps. When you go to do something challenging – it could be anything, from a complicated brain teaser to applying for a new job – it’s crucial to maintain a positive internal dialogue with yourself. Don’t immediately think, “There’s no way I could solve this” or “I’m not good enough for that company to hire me.”
That’s not the way to be. What you *should* be thinking is, “All I have to do is apply myself and I *can* solve this problem,” or “Okay, I’m qualified, intelligent, charismatic, and hard-working – if these guys don’t hire me, it’s *their* loss. Not mine.”
I may not have met you, yet. But that doesn’t mean I don’t believe in you.
