Comments from the Survey

We received many comments from our SelfGrowth.com members. There were too many to publish all of them. Instead, we are publishing a handful of them to show you the impact that inspirational books had on our lives. Thanks to all who submitted.

Secrets of an Irresistible Woman changed my life. I had dwelled in the "I'm sick of being single" realm for a while and had really stopped "living" and enjoying life. Michelle recharged my batteries and reminded me that I can be a blessing to others whether I am single or not.

I read Get Out Of Your Own Way when I was struggling with how to reinvent myself. I'd come to a cross roads in my professional life. I was unhappy in my career, but afraid to step out and find a new job. This book provided tools and strategies to help me plan and then pursue my new direction.

The Secret, and The Master Key System, opened my eyes to the world around me, changed my thinking, and lifted a long-standing depression. They also confirmed several parts of the New Testament, and clarified many others.

Many self help and Prosperity books have taken me from a middle class upbringing and ideal to an in the moment life of prosperity. If you think you can, you are so right and if you think you can't, your right again.

Living and loving and achieving the gifts of the present moment is what I wish for everyone.

People are often trying to find love but in America one out of two marriages ends in divorce so obviously we don't know how to keep the love we find!

Heart Magic, Keeping Love Alive & Well by Maria J. Andrade, M.F.T. taught me simple, basic guidelines to sustain love once it is found. Its a small, powerhouse of a book.

After I read the Gage book (Why You're Dumb, Sick & Broke) , things really started booming for me because I began recognizing the things holding me back.... and began using critical thinking to overcome these blockages and barriers. This book was a great help to me!!

The ten ancient scrolls contained in The Greatest Salesman literally transformed my life. Each one has to be "worked" for thirty consecutive days (although I did them for more than a year and a half). Whether on love, perseverance, letting go, these ten principles apply to every aspect of living, not just sales. I learned to worry less, work through adversity, love more freely and so much more. These principles even aided me in overcoming an eating disorder and surviving divorce. This book became my bible and I have given away dozens as gifts.

When I read the Tao Te Ching for the first time more than 30 years ago, it felt like a homecoming. It lead me to start doing Tai Chi Chuan and other practices to explore its wisdom on all possible levels of consciousness and life. I reread it many times in different translations, it stirred up many new questions and explorations. I have never read anything deeper. To say it clearly: only with somebody so developed than LaoTse as a source for the material you can achieve that depth. Most people today wouldn't even dare to go that way.

Johnny Apple seed was my favorite childhood book because I loved the outdoors and gardening with my grandmother and when my Grandmother would read me the story over and over she would remind me that there really was a Johnny Apple seed who helped people realize the value of apples. He was always happy and funny and connected to the earth. I thought that someday, when I grew up I would change my name and become a Johnny Appleseed. Today, at 60, part of my livelihood and favorite pastime is gardening.

About 10 years ago is when I discovered my #1 book, Happiness is a Serious Problem. I have always been a happy person by nature, however, this book opened my eyes to how important it is to spread the message of happiness. Cut to 10 years later... not only do I have a full time career at one of the World's leading TV Networks, I have devoted a big part of my life to inspiring others through my website, i-choose-happiness.com

If I can help one more person discover that happiness is a conscious choice to be made, I will have taken one more step toward what I feel is my purpose in life!

I was smack in the middle of the lowest point in my life when I bought Spirit Song by Mary Summer Rain. It was the catalyst to move forward in my study of part of my heritage. It helped me to know it was ok to want different things than most people and to be proud of my talents and abilities and use them to help others.

In 1978 I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, while I was pregnant.

Three Magic Words was my first introduction to the Law of Attraction and it put me on a spiritual journey that changed my life ( and my health).

The Slight Edge gave me an experience that went beyond knowing that every choice I make, from how I spend my time to who I associate with to what thoughts I have in my head, what I eat, etc. etc. that EVERYTHING counts. You are either going towards your destination or father away from it.

I have read so many books, but the one that will remain evergreen in my memory, is Unleashing The Tremendous Potentials Within You.

Before reading that book, I was a despondent young man that wasn't sure of what the future foretells. I was always apprehensive because I saw a lot of gloom ahead of me.

After reading that book, my eyes were opened to a lot of possibilities. I became a firm believer in myself and saw a lot of hope in my future. I promised NEVER to settle for less again and till today my life has NEVER being the same again.
