| Description: | EMDRIA/CEU Credits: 12 This course applies EMDR to attachment based trauma. Attachment styles are defined from a neurobiological perspective. Questionnaires and tools will be taught and practiced to help assess client attachment styles. Attachment styles will be discussed as related to the 8 Phases of EMDR for adults, couples, parent/child dyads and children. History taking will assess specific cognitions and possible targets for the early developmental period of attachment. RDI will be used to stabilize the client in preparation for EMDR. During desensitization blocked processing will be discussed with specific ways to manage affect regulation to keep the client processing. There will be didactic and experiential exercises for therapists to apply this work to their practice and opportunity for in depth case discussion.
