UK Specialist in Hypnotherapy, Hypnoanalysis & Stress Management Expert

Is Life Getting You Down?

FREE screening for stress, anxiety, fears, phobias, "the blues", or panic attacks...

Alan Gray of Scarborough Hypnotherapy is a UK analytical & clinical hypnotherapist who specialises in hypnoanalysis & clinical hypnosis.

He helps clients resolve anxiety, many fears & phobias, sexual difficulties, unwanted habits, obsessions & compulsions, self-esteem issues, lack of confidence, the smoking habit, weight loss, and many other socially inhibiting conditions.

His Stress Busting Programme is without equal.

Hypnoanalysis is a highly effective and specialist form of advanced analytical hypnotherapy. This life-changing therapy is totally natural, very relaxing and emotionally liberating.

Compared with counselling and other "talking therapies", hypnotherapy and hypnoanalysis tend to be relatively short-term for the number of sessions required to achieve lasting benefits.

Alan treats many clients who have been prescribed anti-depressant medication, previously experienced many sessions of counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or similar psychological regimes.

Essentually, the very relaxed experience of hypnosis enhances memory recall and stimulates the subconscious flow of spontaneous thoughts. More positive mindsets then begin to take leading positions in the client's inclined perceptions, replacing negative and inhibiting themes. As hypnoanalysis brings into focus the initial causation of the presenting condition, so symptoms subside and resolve.

Whilst hypnoanalysis has no explicit religious or spiritual content, catharsis itself arises as much from the "heart" as from the mind.

Alan’s very first experience of hypnosis was actually with his internationally successful stage hypnotist uncle, Steven - a Paul Mckenna of his day - who toured theatres with his hypnotic show in the late 1940's and 50's.

As his fascination with this natural phenomenum grew, he began to appreciate the amazing power of hypnotherapy in facilitating personal development. For the alleviation of stress and anxiety it is more than often considered the preferred complementary therapy. The end result is much happier and productive lives in our work and play, as the mind assumes positive objectives.

Alan's formal hypnotherapy and stress consultancy training began in 1993. He qualified with two major schools of clinical & analytical hypnotherapy (hypnoanalysis), and since has completed numerous hands-on workshops and seminars. These have included: Smoking Cessation, Treating Children with Hypnotherapy, Sports Enhancement, Advanced Hypnoanalytical Techniques, Hypnotic Suggestion, and Pain Management with Hypnosis.

On a more controversial level, Alan is well qualified and has an interest in past life regression for those clients who want to explore their perceived beliefs in former lives.

He is a full professional member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. These are the largest UK lead bodies in setting highest standards for the profession, under training guidelines from the Department of Health.

Alan has also completed a programme of hypnoanalysis himself and has the personal experience of being in the "client shoes". One of his key strengths is that he has personally experienced and resolved many of the problems that his clients consult for and can therefore feel a genuine empathy with their difficulties.

Alan spent his formative years in a traditional town near Newcastle, Tyne & Wear. In his early teens, the family then moved to beautiful North Yorkshire and lived on a remote hill farm. This contrasting experience of town with country gave him a clear understanding of natural processes and the value of practical commonsense.

Alan left school early aged 15 years old, with modest qualifications. In time, however, he completed university and to this day lifelong education continues to be a passion.

His qualifications include an advanced diploma in stress consultancy, a doctorate in metaphysics, specialising in analytical hypnotherapy and a doctorate in complementary medicine. Alan is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and also holds a masters degree from the University of East Anglia. One of his present interests is the psychology of stress management.

Before becoming a personal development specialist he was a full-time lecturer in further & higher education, an economist and business consultant.

Alan's varied life experience, pragmatic commonsense and engaging sense of humour are of huge practical benefit to his clients.

Importantly, every client can be assured of complete confidentiality. Alan is perhaps the most non-judgemental person you will ever meet and is delighted to provide a free no-obligation initial consultation.

Finally, Alan Gray is FULLY committed to each client's individual needs and to bringing a renewed & more optimistic focus into their lives.
