Born and raised iin The Salvation Army where both my parents were clergy, I've been active in churches--from New York to Arizona--all my life, mainly as a Bible study teacher. My great love is rooting around to find the original meaning of the words used and the customs of the times to better understand what the Bible actually says. The Bible came from the mind of God and is true in every respect, but it sure doesn't always seem to be, so putting everything into context is exciting stuff.

When I had my software company, I did business with a desktop publishing company owned by an atheist husband and an agnostic wife. When they realized I wouldn't box their ears with my Bible knowledge, they had a gazillion questions. It was hearing the same questions at a Christian retreat that showed me the need for a book. So I wrote How to be a Christian Without Being Annoying to explain how the Bible describes Christianity. My dry humor shows up in its pages, and people talk about the breezy writing style.

My latest effort is an e-book, The Christmas Invitation. It explains the original Christmas story, which nobody seems to know. Which means it's right up my alley, giving me a chance to explain a really terrific event. Next, I plan to do a book about Good Friday and Easter. Now there's a story! The political intrigue! The skulduggery! Did you know Jesus died shouting an Olympics victory cry? Not that wussy, woe-is-me stuff Hollywood puts out.

I put myself through college and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in business. I launched my adult life as an IBM Systems Engineer, then as a small company consultant, then started a software company. Finally, I came to my first love--writing and speaking about God--full time, except for brief period when I worked as a registered mutual fund representative, mostly to sharpen my investing skills.

Although it hardly seems possible, my kids are grown now, and I'm taking bows all around about what terrific people they turned out to be. They did a lot of the heavy-lifting, but I get all the credit. Sounds fair to me.
