At one time, I was trapped in my own prison of fear. I was unable to have conversations with women, speak for myself, be honest with others and myself, have meaningful relationships, and feel like I could be my true self. I just did not feel comfortable in my own skin. There wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel. I felt hopeless and that I would die alone with no meaningful contact in my life. My huge fear of abandonment was stopping me from being the person that I knew I wanted to be. I was not a happy camper.
At the age of 26, I decided to free myself from my prison of fear. I started to read anything I could get my hands on. I started to listen to any audio book and enrolled in Automobile University(listening to audio books in my car). My goal was with each book I listened to or read was to just get one new thought. I would then take a lesson for the new thought and create a practice to put that new thought into action. Years of doing this allowed me to have a great many changes in my life. I can now speak up for myself, have conversations with women, be honest with others and more importantly myself, have meaningful relationships and live from a wonderful purpose. Things went into over-drive when I started to write intentions and surrounding me with people who were also putting their thoughts into action.
Now I live a much happier life. By putting my spiritual intentions into action, I have many friends, meaningful connections and can talk with strangers and use my fears for growth. I went from being afraid of change to being excited about the future.
In 2009, at the age of 30, I decided to make it my mission to help people whose gift is not introspection. It brings me great joy reading and listening to books on how to improve my life. I knew there were people out there who do not spend hours thinking about their lives and how to improve them. I saw the power of working with coaches and I knew my gift of introspection will be a great asset. I searched for a coaching school and discovered the perfect one for me is right next door in Edmonds, WA. I then enrolled into Invite Change and I am living my purpose! I feel great passion in helping people reach their goals from within.
"Ego is the lens that focuses intention."
Getting rid of the ego is for people who want to sit on top of mountains and give advice. Still we do not know if they have let go of their ego or created an ego of the person who sits on top of mountains and gives advice. You want peace and joy in your life and the most effective way is to combine ego with spirit. The combination of ego with spirit is using the spirit to inspire the ego. The more your practice, the more you will be living an inspired life and enjoy the world you live in.
