Carole J. Hyder has been a successful Feng Shui consultant, speaker, teacher, author and trainer since 1992. She has facilitated hundreds of residential and commercial appointments, both on-site and long-distance. Carole has published two books (Wind and Water and Living Feng Shui) and has produced two DVDs (The Science of Feng Shui and Listen to your Language). In 1998, she founded the Wind and Water School of Feng Shui, a two-part training program for those interested in a serious study of Feng Shui. The training is available in classroom as well as correspondence format. It was recently licensed by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education.
Carole is the co-founder and president of the Feng Shui Institute of the Midwest, an organization dedicated to creating standards for practitioners, providing continuing education and community outreach. Carole appears monthly on the NBC-TV affiliate station in Minneapolis, discussing the art and science of Feng Shui.
In December 2006, Carole completed a graduate degree from the University of Minnesota in East Asian Studies, providing cultural and historical context of her Feng Shui studies.
The Wind and Water School of Feng Shui began training students in 1998. The program consists of two parts, spanning anywhere from 14 to 18 months. The School has graduated nearly 300 students since it began, all incorporating Feng Shui in their lives directly or indirectly. The students not only learn the foundational material requisite to being an effective consultant, but observe Carole actually facilitating appointments. Recently the School was awarded the Gold Level status from the International Feng Shui Guild for its quality curriculum and for the support provided students during their training.
The training is available in a classroom as well as correspondence format. For further information, see www.windwaterschool.com.
My favorite quote from the Tao Te Ching underscores the importance of your personal space. Your home or office is more than a geometrical system, but an avenue to a more global perspective. Read Chapter 47 below for Lao Tsu's insight:
We can understand the world as it is
without leaving our home.
We can understand the world as it might be
without peering dreamily out our window.
The further we go,
the less we know.
