Deirdre Miller, RMT, IARP is a Reiki Intuitive, certified Usui Reiki Master/Teacher and Spiritual Medium. For over ten years, she has taught and practiced Intuitive Reiki Energy Healing and Spiritual Counseling in her studio, SpiritLight Works, LLC in Niantic, CT as sole owner. Deirdre has enjoyed a successful career in a variety of fields spanning three decades. Her latest endeavor came as a result of resigning from a responsible position in a local college to explore a less stressful lifestyle by utilizing holistic medicine and the healing arts, and committing herself to helping others to do the same.

Deirdre is a member of the International Society of Reiki Professionals, the American Board of Reiki, the Association for Spirit at Work, the SE CT Chamber of Commerce, is a former executive board member of her local Community Center, and co-founder/director of a scholarship program for Theater Arts students. Personal note from Deirdre:

I have been aware of my psychic gifts since I was a child, and like many mediums or psychics, I did not consciously recognize how to use these gifts until much later. I came to recognize them in full force when I reached my middle twenties and predicted many incidents, which were avoided due to forewarnings. One involved my own car catching on fire, which I was able to put out in time because of a prior warning I had received just as I was leaving the house. On one occasion, I "heard" the sounds of a car crashing on the road ahead of us when nobody else in the car heard it. Shortly after, we came upon the accident scene. I "sensed" the danger of a collision with my own car, which gave me the opportunity to change my mind about taking my children with me and left them at home with their father. However, as it was important for me to go, regardless, I made sure I drove 5 miles an hour down the country road I had to travel on -- ultimately avoiding the inevitable collision by inches. Later, I predicted dangerously defective wheels on a friend's new rental car, and a bad tire on my daughter's brand new car before the recent tire fiasco become known, although these defects were not noticeable to the naked eye.

Danger, however, is not the only thing I sense. I am able to interpret people's motives, can read through the written word to get to the core of the meaning, and have used my sentient gift when hiring people. I am able to discern if a person is telling the truth. I "see" what they are saying, but I know when it is not Truth. I don't judge them. I don't think they are "bad" for not telling the truth, I simply know they are not, and that the situation in which I find myself is what it is. It is that simple. It is as though I am a machine, recording the information, unable to make even the slightest judgment or able to give the slightest reaction. It just IS what it IS.

I have also been graced with the gift of automatic writing. Faced with a particularly stressful time in my life, I found myself one lonely evening, writing automatically. The message that came through was clear and evident -- I had to keep studying to learn more about these gifts from God. When I "found" Ruth Montgomery and realized I was not alone in this unusual gift, I was very relieved.

However, my father's illness with cancer was what brought me to seriously begin studying this phenomenon in earnest. During this time, I put all my energy into the study of what healing energy was all about and attended numerous workshops, including Dr. Bernie S. Siegel's Exceptional Cancer Patients (Author of: Love, Medicine & Miracles), and I held my own healing circles. Most recently, I have attended seminars and workshops facilitated by: Jean Houston's A New Mind For a New Millennium (Author of: A Mythic Life: Learning to Live Our Greater Story) at Rowe Camp, Dr. Carolyn Myss (Anatomy of the Spirit), and Stewart Pearce (The Alchemy of Voice). I have attended numerous other psychic phenomenon seminars, including those about UFO's and Alien Abductions (Budd Hopkins, John White, et al), and have taken Brandon Bays' The Journey.

Throughout my entire life, I have been fascinated with philosophy and religion. Born and baptized in the Church of England, I have explored many faiths including, the Episcopal, Baptist, Roman Catholic, and Methodist Churches, the Spiritualist Church, Buddhism and have attended Synagogue with my husband, as well as Evangelical services. I consider myself a Christian and believe that Jesus Christ is my brother with whom I can commune at will. I do not believe, however, that those who do not have my beliefs are "doomed" forever. I have a universal belief that all religions belong to one Source, which is the Mother/Father of Us All and I embrace people of all religions. I also believe it is wrong to disagree with another's right to practice their own religion in the way they see fit. I have studied Edgar Cayce's transcripts and read many books on various subjects ranging from: the Conversations With God Trilogy and those that followed, to the Bible, Classical Poetry, Shakespeare, Deepak Chopra, Whitley Strieber (Communion Series), Sylvia Browne, James Van Praagh, Gary Zukov, James Redfield (Celestine Prophecy Series), George Anderson (We Don't Die), and all variations in between. As mentioned above, I am an admirer of Ruth Montgomery, whom I consider my mentor, and who provided me with the solace I so desperately needed when my father was ailing, and I began to question what life on this earth was all about. I strongly recommend her first book (if you can find it), "A World Beyond."

Getting Started With Deirdre J. Miller

My Dear Friends,

I am so glad you're here and took the time to visit! Thank you for your interest in what I do.

A Reiki session in person lasts anywhere from 1-1/2 to 2 hours, depending upon your needs. Reiki is an ancient Japanese method of energy healing and is conducted by particular hand placements on the body, starting at the head and working down to the toes and back again. The wonderful thing about it is that it is not necessary to touch you because energy travels infinitely. However, as I am a "touchy feely" person I do like to place my hands directly on you, but it's not required. You choose whether or not this happens. Clients usually feel like being very still and quiet and, sometimes, will even drop off to sleep. However, if you are not that way inclined, we can speak to each other during a session if you wish. Of course, if we are doing this remotely, we will speak to each other telepathically. And, yes, that is possible!

To begin a Reiki session, I will sit with you prior to your session and conduct an "intake" for about 15 mins. This will entail discussion about any physical or emotional concerns you might have. I will then give you a brief history of Reiki, what it is and how it works and explain exactly what to expect during your session (any physical sensations, etc.). You then lie down in a private room on a massage table, fully clothed and covered by a blanket. This will take approximately one hour. Afterwards, we will sit together and I will provide feedback and answer any questions. It is also important for you to know that Reiki is not a replacement for any medical therapy that you might be currently undergoing. It is meant as an enhancement. Both allopathy and homeopathy should work together for your highest benefit.

In regards to spiritual counseling. This session is very much the same, except that the session is longer. As well as the energy work, I will be giving you a reading afterwards and the discussion period for that usually lasts longer. I also prepare ahead of time by "reading" you, long distance, and conducting a private meditation prior to your arrival. So you could say that although our session together won't be four hours, my preparation ahead of time usually requires this sort of time.
You may also book a reading by itself. This way, you skip the Reiki session and we simply sit together for an hour. However, I do recommend both. The fee here, is not the motivation for my recommendation. I find clients gain so much more from having a Reiki session also. The spiritual connection that is provided through this, in such a sacred way, certainly enhances the reading. Besides, I feel that everyone can benefit from such amazing energy, whether they have any problems or not. It really grounds, energizes and relaxes all at the same time.

Conversely, if you are too far away to visit, I can send you a "reading" via email or what we call "absent healing." You will receive your reading via an attachment in a Word document. It usually contains at least 1,000 words or more. Again, I recommend your physical presence for the reasons stated above, but if that's not possible, this is the next best thing.

To give you an idea of how I conduct my reading work, you will know that there are many variations of Spirit communication, if you have experienced mediumship before. Sometimes I will plainly see a vision as though I am watching a movie, or perhaps hear someone speaking. Finally, I might feel physical sensations or have the desire to write automatically. Many times messages will come through with all of these versions of communication: vision, auditory and through writing, but perhaps some with only one or two. It depends entirely on the client for whom I am reading -- and how Spirit wishes it to be.

You will understand that we are all connected via energy and, therefore, do not necessarily need to be present with each other in the physical realm to be able to connect. This is why I am able to read for clients at a distance. We all have "guardians" or "spirit guides" and all I do is ask, via a peaceful state of mind and through prayer, for my spirit guides to contact yours to assist with whatever it is that you need and provide the guidance that is necessary.

It is important for you to know that I do not add my own "voice" in the transcription of my messages. If there is writing involved in your reading, this will come directly from Spirit and is transcribed exactly as received. I feel it is my responsibility to give it to you as purely as I receive it, as it is almost impossible to add anything to what Spirit has already given. For this reason, parts of the message would be for the client to understand, not me, and therefore might not make sense to anyone else. The rest is more open to interpretation and when I feel strongly about something I have seen or heard, I will try to elucidate a little more. However, if it does not resonate with me, I will give it to you and leave it to you for interpretation. If, after any reading, you are genuinely confused, I will ask Spirit for further illumination, of course.
