
Dr. Devona Williams has over 25 years experience in the fields of public policy, planning and public relations with the corporate, government, and non-profit sectors. She founded Goeins-Williams Associates, Inc., a successful performance consulting and training business in 1986 with offices in Clayton, DE and Aurora, CO to “help organizations achieve greater productivity in strategic work environments”.
As President/CEO of her company Dr. Williams has contributed her unique talents and gifts to helping more than 35000 individuals in hundreds of organizations increase their effectiveness. A partial list of her clients includes AstraZeneca, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, McDonalds, the DuPont Company, the YWCA of the Mid Atlantic Region and the Denver Rubber Company. GWA provides performance consulting and innovative seminars to corporate, government and non-profit clients in Mid Atlantic and Rocky Mountain regions. The Company received the Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business Award in June 2000. In October 2000, GWA was also named minority business of the year by the Delaware Minority Business Opportunity Council and the Reinvestment Action Council.
Dr. Williams received her doctorate in Urban Affairs & Public Policy from the University of Delaware in 1992 with specializations in urban systems and planning and social policy and analysis. In 1995, she received the University of Delaware's Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement and the Distinguished Alumna Award from the University's College of Urban Affairs & Public Policy. Dr. Williams was named NAWBO Member of the Year and selected as a finalist in the category of Consultants for the Denver Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business Awards, August 2006 and 2005, respectively. The Delaware Today Magazine named Dr. Williams one of the top 37 women in business in Delaware in December 2005. She is a contributing author to the newly released book, Remarkable Women and creator of the best-selling Spice of Life™ Diversity Card training tool and a frequent speaker on business success, entrepreneurship, diversity and overcoming obstacles.
Dr. Williams is a member the Inscape Publishing Network and the National Association of Women Business Owners-Delaware Chapter. She is a member of the Wilmington Senior Center and has recently been named President of the Board of Directors of NAWBO-Delaware.
