Dr. Spencer L. Gaines

Spencer
Gaines is originally from New York. About seventeen years ago, Spencer
relocated to south Florida. Once in Florida he went to work for Royal
Crown Cola located in Miami Beach. As a corporate trainer, Spencer
worked with both the domestic hires as well as the international
franchise owners for the ARBYS restaurant division. Within two years of
entering the Florida market, Spencer was offered a position with a new
start up located in Sarasota, Florida. Although Spencer realized that
this was a high speculative move he also realized that this opportunity
was worth the time, effort, and risk. The organization grew from four
people to over four hundred employees. During this period Spencer
served as not only the Director of Sales, but as the Director of
Leadership, training and Organizational Development. In 2004 the
organization’s owner decided to retire and the import-export house
relocated to Hong Kong.

 

The
success experienced by Spencer during this period afforded him the
opportunity to do something he always wanted to do, become a
teacher. Spencer Gaines’s teaching began in an inner city school and
after a few years, was offered a faculty position with Nova
Southeastern University. He stayed with the university until the
opportunity presented itself at the University of Miami as the Senior
Program Manager for leadership development at the Professional
Development and Training division of the university. Charged with the
empowerment of over 3000 people who represent all levels of leadership
at UM. Dr. Gaines is driven to move the entire leadership membership
to a level success not currently enjoyed at the university. In
addition, Dr. Gaines is the founder and president of CoachTrain, Inc.,
located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The firm offers consultation

Spencer holds a double Doctorate in the fields of
Organizational Leadership and Special Education as well as a Masters
degree in educational leadership. He holds a Masters Degree in Conflict
Analysis and Dispute Resolution, Bachelors degree in Legal Studies, and
an Associate’s Degree in Para-Law. Spencer is also certified on two
online education platforms and is certified in airline dispatching, and
is a member of ASTD and SHRM. He has been married for twenty five years
and has three children. It is Spencer’s vision to reach as many leaders
as possible throughout his career and empower them with the many tools
and personal life experiences as possible.
