Ellen Goldsmith has over twenty years of practical and clinical experience in the field of Asian medicine. She graduated from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon with a masters of science in Oriental Medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist, licensed massage therapist and certified Chinese herbalist. She practices at Pearl Natural Health, a comprehensive natural medicine clinic offering services in naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine and homeopathic medicine in Portland, Oregon.

She has taught health and wellness classes internationally. She developed and taught a wellness program for undergraduate drama students at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts' Drama department for over 12 years. The course was developed to support performing artists' vitality and presence, the course was required for all incoming freshman.

She has taught shiatsu to healthcare practitioners and the public in Europe, New York and has been

a co-facilitator for The Passage, a 5 day retreat for people experiencing difficult transitions or for those who want to work with the dying. Currently she teaches Chinese Dietary Therapy at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

She is a member of the Acupuncture Advisory Committee to the Oregon Medical Board and is on the board of directors at the National College of Natural Medicine.
