
Dr. Eric Davis has been in the field of mental health and addiction for over a decade, and has gained extensive experience in dual diagnosis working as a Therapist and Director in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. As a clinician, heprovides therapy from a holistic perspective--noting the importance of integrally addressing the needs of mind, body, and spirit in a successful recovery program. He co-founded Life Recovery Center of Indianapolis, IN, in 2004 where he currently serves as Co-Executive Director and Director of Clinical Services.
Dr. Davis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (IN#34005462A), Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (IN#87000084A), and Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor who holds a Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of Indianapolis, a Masters degree in Social Work from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University. Additionally, he holds advanced certifications in the areas of addiction counseling and working with criminal justice clients.
Dr. Davis is the author of the book The Bible and Recovery: A Review of Biblical Aspects of the Twelve Steps and Other Recovery Principles. He has contributed articles on recovery, self-help, and mental health-related topics to national magazines and has been interviewed, quoted, or featured on radio stations and in the Indianapolis Star, USA Today, and the NY Daily News. He has also been a guest speaker at churches, courts, probation offices, elementary schools, universities, hospitals and treatment facilities.
Always involved and passionate about addiction treatment and recovery, Dr. Davis is a founding member of Recovering Professionals International,an organization which advocates against the social stigmas surrounding addiction and recovery, and offers a scholarship fund to help recovering individuals pursue college degrees in the human service field. He also serves as Chairman of the Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction's Indiana Access To Recovery Advisory Committee and serves as Secretary on the Executive Board of the Indiana Counselors Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
In addition to his work at Life Recovery Center, Dr. Davis teaches as an adjunct professor for the Indiana University School of Social Work and serves on the University of Indianapolis Social Work Program Committee.
Dr. Davis was ordained into the ministry in 2009 and will offer Christian counseling upon client request. He is also a musician (drummer, guitarist, and vocalist) who enjoys writing and performing music.
