Gary Zukav is a best-selling author, dedicated to the birth of a new humanity. He calls himself a student of life who has made the journey away from an angry man with no regard for life. Zukav alleges that the human species is in the midst of a great transformation of consciousness, evolving from a species that is limited in its perception to the five senses and understands power as the ability to manipulate and control—“external power”—to one that is not limited to the perceptions of the five senses and understands power as the alignment of the personality with the soul —“authentic power.”
In the book, Zukav discusses the transformation of human consciousness from five-sensory to “multisensory” and provides the tools to create “authentic power,” the alignment of the personality with the soul. The Seat of the Soul is valuable and thought-provoking because it tries to describe the evolution of human consciousness through the expansion of our senses into the realm of intuition, spiritual guidance, and self-responsibility.
Zukav believes that humans are immortal souls first, physical beings second, and that we grow spiritually by using emotional awareness, responsible choice, intuition, and trust to create a life of meaning and joy. His book, Soul Stories, is an excellent follow-up to The Seat of the Soul, and I recommend it as the second place to go. Soul Stories includes 52 short stories of how intuition and spirit are part of people’s lives.
