Guidun Bai, Ph.D., L.A.C. Dr. Guidun Bai’s deep knowledge of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine began from his studies in China, however, he is currently a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and the American community has now been introduced to his profound understanding of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Born in a family of western medical practitioners in China, Guidun was inspired to become a healer too. He was attracted to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since childhood because of its profound philosophical roots and innate wisdom that were extremely effective in a clinical atmosphere. Beginning his academic training as a teenager in TCM theories, he learned to apply the healing arts of Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and Tui Na. He was lucky enough to study under several veteran TCM doctors. In 1980, Guidun came to America. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Microbiology in 1985, and he received a diploma in Acupuncture from the Maryland Institute of TCM in 1998. He gained his Ph.D. in Oriental Medicine from American Liberty University in 2002. Dr. Bai is currently an instructor at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine teaching Master level classes which include, Advanced Needle Technique and the Treatment of Orthopedic Disorders. He is also a supervisor in the school clinic. Dr. Bai’s has extensive knowledge in many fields, but his major focus for over 30 years (of acupuncture clinical experience) has always been TCM. He loves Chinese Martial Arts. He practices Tai Chi and Medical Qi Gong everyday. America is his second homeland, and he fully understands the culture and customs of both countries. Dr. Bai is open-minded, humorous and cares for every patient, just as a parent cares for his children. His positive, optimistic and peaceful attitude towards life inspires everyone who comes in contact with him. Dr. Bai goes back to his home country on a regular basis in pursuit of new knowledge, expertise and clinical experience. While continuing his investigation of the ancient, extensive TCM libraries, he also incorporates the latest findings and technologies in the field. He is a perpetual student, with the main objective of improving his treatment and diagnostic skills. Dr. Bai integrates TCM with Western Medicine and culture.
