Most test kits are collected in the privacy of your home from urine, saliva, or blood from a finger stick. Major insurance companies including Medicare cover most testing.

Treatment focuses on correcting the identified imbalances and getting the brain and body's chemistry back in balance. We treat clients either in our office or by telephone consultation. Test kits can be sent anywhere in the world.

Our outpatient integrative psychiatric practice is located in Sarasota Florida. The team consists of a Psychiatric nurse practitioner, a psychotherapist, a psychiatrist, and our office manager Norrece. We strive to identify and  treat underlying conditions such as adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid disorders, and neurotransmitter imbalances which cause or contribute to symptoms of depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.

Valerie Balandra ARNP, BC is board certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner as well as a holistic health practitioner. She graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook with a Masters Degree in Nursing, and is taking courses towards a doctorate degree in Naturopathy. She has been practicing in the field of psychiatric nursing for over twenty years. Her areas of expertise are psychopharmacology,  natural treatments for depression, and adrenal fatigue, as well as utilizing neurotransmitter testing and targeted amino acid therapy to identify and treat neurotransmitter imbalances. She has written numerous articles on natural cures for depression and anxiety and was interviewed on that topic on a national radio health program.

We accept most insurance plans for office visits. Most of the testing is covered by Medicare and PPO insurance plans.

Depending upon state regulations and the patient's treatment goals medication may be recommended. This is a joint decision between the patient and practitioner. Assistance and supervision is also available for those wishing to get off of psychiatric medication.
