A Social Worker specializing in adult mental health and
over ten years of experience as a Childbirth Educator, Kathleen
Milligan became a National Guild Certified Hypnotherapist and Emotional
Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner.
The complicated and traumatic birth of her first child inspired
Kathleen to become a certified Childbirth Educator and Doula. The very
easy birth of her second child, accomplished through hypnosis, led
Kathleen to become a National Guild Certified Hypnotherapist. Her goal
was clear: to enable other parents-to-be to have the same positive and
fearless birth experience that she had had.
In 2006, Kathleen launched her successful hypnotherapy practice, Action Hypnosis,
with the primary intention of helping parents and parents-to-be use
hypnosis and EFT to navigate fertility and conception as well as
childbirth and labour. It was immediately apparent to her that
hypnotherapy and EFT could benefit parents and children in many other
aspects of life, too. Since then, not only has she worked with many
expectant moms, she’s also helped numerous parents and children to
allay fears, abandon phobias, build self-confidence, manage pain, end
bad habits, and think positively.
Professionally, Kathleen has worked with and/or been inspired by a
number of renowned hypnotherapy practitioners including Lyndsi Eastburn
and her HypnoFertility Therapy Program, Dr. Alice Domar at the Boston
IVF Clinic, Walter Makichen, Dawson Church, and Byron Katie. Currently,
Kathleen is working to launch a joint research project with a
psychiatrist to identify the efficacy of EFT and medically assisted
fertility treatments (IVF). Kathleen is an active member of a worldwide
network of hypnotherapists and EFT practitioners. She has been featured
extensively in the local media.
Today, parents face an overwhelming number of pressures and sometimes
the options available are frightening or confusing. Kathleen believes
hypnotherapy and EFT are excellent tools. Both practices are
non-invasive; they involve relaxation, visualization and tapping. The
techniques are fast, easy, and safe to do at home or over the phone.
Kathleen is happy to answer questions from those parents or parents
expecting to expect, who want to know more about hypnotherapy and EFT;
