Kent’s “success journey” began at age 16, when two questions changed the course of his life:
1. Why do people behave the way they do?
2. What makes someone successful?
Driven to find answers, Kent read hundreds of books, attended numerous seminars, and interviewed countless successful individuals. In his relentless search for answers, Kent has been personally coached by leaders in the field of personal development—and today, he continues his endless journey of seeking and learning.
When asked how he has learned so much at such a young age, he responds, “I’m simply a student of life. I have an insatiable appetite to learn about human behavior and potential. I enjoy learning how to maximize our efforts, performance, and results .”
Born in San Jose, California, Kent Healy was 10 when he set off with his family to continue their lives in New Zealand, where he would remain for 8 years before returning back to California.
He started his first business, Reactor Board Tech, at age 15. Reactor manufactured skimboards, skateboards, T-shirts, and other products. Managing his small business, Kent realized that he was not learning some very important life skills in school. While math, English, history, and science are important, Kent was fortunate to learn early in life that there were many more skills needed to lead an extraordinary life. This is when Kent began researching the science of success.
By age 17, Kent decided to partner with his brother to help millions of other students succeed in the real world. The result was their book, “Cool Stuff” They Should Teach In School. Since its publication, the overwhelming positive feedback drove Kent to found a publishing company called “Cool Stuff” Media, Inc. (www.coolstuffmedia.com). The publication caught the media’s attention, and that attention brought with it invitations for guest appearances on more than 100 TV and radio shows around the country.
At age 22, Kent taught a high school class titled The Science of Success, encompassing practical psychology and peak-performance strategies. Today he is a highly requested guest lecturer at numerous schools, colleges, and organizations nationwide.
Currently a columnist for several newspapers, Kent also writes feature articles for various magazines across the country. A perennial author, Kent is always working on yet another book. His writing has caught the attention of internationally recognized authors. Jack Canfield, the co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series, invited Kent to write The Success Principles for Teens based on Jack’s international best-selling book, The Success Principles. Besides writing new books, Kent is also creating audio programs, organizing youth events, and regularly speaking around the country. Selected from people across the nation to be one of ten contestants on a new groundbreaking TV show called, The Messengers, Kent competed as the youngest contestant for the title “America’s Next Great Inspirational Speaker.”
In a collegiate Business Honors program, Kent was selected by the Harvard Business School Association of Orange County to receive a monetary scholarship rewarding his entrepreneurial efforts. He was also invited to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa due to his dedication to scholarly success. Today Kent is twenty four years old and resides in San Clemente, CA.
