As a former character on soaps such as Port Charles, Young and the Restless and a few parts in movies, Kerri Pomarolli was attracting big hitters in the industry. She came to Hollywood searching out that one role that would make her famous but found compromising her faith was not worth the star on the Walk of Fame. One night after much prayer it was apparent that God had other plans for her, Pomarolli was to do stand up. She was led to her first gig, in all places, at the world famous Hollywood Improv. Although she performed in front of a very secular crowd Pomarolli was the only performer asked to come back. Pomarolli continues to hone her craft by working the comedy club circuit and has become one of the most sought after Christian comedians and tours extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada. She has shared the stage with such diverse Christian Comedians as Ron McGehee, Sherri Shepherd, Carlos Oscar and Anthony Griffin. Whether she’s at a secular comedy club or a church congregation Pomarolli uses comedy as her pulpit and has become an innovative and charismatic evangelical.
Pomarolli is also an accomplished actress, published author and veteran of television with credits that include 27 appearances on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, recurring roles on Port Charles and Young and the Restless, and Lifetime Network. She has been a popular guest on many TV shows on Fox, TBN, CBN, The Total Living Network, ABC, ABC Family Network, The Joni Show, CNN Headline News Showbiz Tonight, Hallmark Channel and many others. She is currently taping 11 episodes for a new entertainment variety show in Branson, Missouri to air nationally.
Pomarolli writes her own bi monthly advice column “Confessions” in the national magazine Radiant, Co-writer with Ron McGehee new advice column in Positive Reactions magazine, contributing writer for the new national magazine “Hope For Women”, writing articles for the Teen magazine Brio, is a contributing writer in Flint Wainess’ new book "Its Not Me Its You”, co-writer with author Matthew Paul Turner on new book to be released in Fall 2007 by Nav Press, and is part of a new book “Relevant Nation 50 Revolutionaries Under 40” in stores now published by Relevant Press. Her book, “If I Am Waiting On God, Then What Am I Doing In A Christian Chatroom?; Confessions Of A Do It Yourself Single” is in Christian bookstores nationally. She is writing a monthly syndicated column and her cartoon, Kerri, in The Chronicle Christian Newspapers.
Pomarolli starred and co-produced a pilot, along with is comedian husband Ron McGehee, produced by Eastgate Productions. The pilot, www.ilovekerri.tv , demonstrates both Pomarolli and McGehee’s comedic ability to interact as they take on the task of home improvement. As you will see, their complete lack of skills is down right comical. I Love Kerri will premiere on Sky Angel Two June 23, 2007.
Pomarolli graced the cover of the November 06 issue of Today’s Christian Woman and the January 07 issue of Cornerstone Connection magazine. Kerri recently taped New Morning Week Day for Hallmark Channel and her book “If I Am Waiting On God" is being considered as a movie with a major studio. Kerri is a board member of the non-profit organization “Breaking Into Hollywood” helping people get started in the entertainment business.
