LaVerne considers herself a helper to others. However, she has many unpublished writings since the age of thirteen. She wrote a brochure called “He Sent His Word” and co-authored a training marketing manual. Three years ago, she wrote a poem, a play, & a song called “The Attributes of the Man of God” that debuted in her church. Most recently LaVerne was appointed, ‘Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals’, 2008-2009. LaVerne is an award winning Community Service Leader, founder of the Campaign for Christ, Sunday School program, Community Service Youth Council II, and Kidzpluz+, a childhood obesity program, just to name a few of her accomplishments. Her first anthology book written with eight friends was published spring 2008 subtitle It’s Your Time and a book co-written with her son Macaiah due by summer It’s Not a Secret and an e-book Campaigning for Christ 31 Day Affirmations Jan 2011 she debuted The World's Luckiest Journal which is a multiple award winning journal.
LaVerne grew up in Vidalia GA. & graduated from high school in Blytheville AR. She attended college at Aenon Bible College & Cuyahoga Community College. LaVerne graduated from MCCC & US Career Institute as a Certified Fitness Instructor & Nutrition Specialist. This woman is creative and inspiring. Another idea she conceived and brought to reality is the World’s first Bridal & Beauty Brands under the umbrella of La DivaPillows LLC., which she founded Feb 2007. Recently while working with brides she decided to add on luxury gift boxes, which can be seen at www.myspace.com/mygiftboxes. LaVerne has also started a business called laExpose.
LaVerne received a commendation from past President Bill Clinton. In addition, she’s been recognized for serving a term in Gen. Colin Powell’s program America’s Promise. LaVerne, served as the Promise Fellow contact person for the State of Arkansas. She has been an honored guest at many events and featured as a motivational speaker. Travel is one of her joys and some of her most impressive experiences have been in Europe, Caribbean, and Africa. From childhood to adulthood, LaVerne has been involved in numerous community services and ministry organizations. LaVerne is an interesting story having survived extremely abusive relationships that sent her underground for a while has emerged determined to be mentally free and to become a successful entrepreneur. Both speaks to domestic violence survivors across the country and gives a percentage of their profits to combat: Domestic Violence, — phenomenal cause.
