Dr. Pedersen is an atypical clinical psychologist in that his not only a certified Jungian psychoanalyst, much of his practice also includes treating chronic physical, psychophysiological, and chronic pain problems.
His many years of interest in men's psychological and spiritual issues clulminated in two books on male psychology: Dark hearts: The Unconscious Forces That shape Men's Lives (1991) and Sixteen Men: Understanding Masculine Personality Types (1993). Both of these books have been published in foreign languages. Dr. Pedersen also wrote his memoir, The Soul Grows in Darkness (2004) an inspirational story of his own efforts to overcome the adversity of his early life. Currently he is working on a coping book called, Four Pillars of Happiness: Coping With Yourself, Others, Your Past, and God.
He has lectured widely, taught graduate and undergraduate psychology and taught numerous workshops for the public and professionals alike. He has a private practice in Walnut Creek, California.
Dr. Pedersen's practice includes Jungian psychoanalysis, general biofeedback, neurofeedback (brain wave feedback), bodywork (Cranio-sacral therapy, ElectroAcuscope treatement, Auriculotherapy (electro ear acupuncture), and hypnotherapy.
