Marie Barrett has spent most of her life in the study of philosophy, theology, mysticism, personal development and the pursuit of answers to the big spiritual questions of life. She has pursued a life-long quest for the holy grail of spiritual union with God, divine Consciousness, Source Energy.

At age seventeen, she asked admittance to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns Monastery in Melbourne, Australia. This ancient Order of nuns is an enclosed community, devoted exclusively to a life of solitude and contemplative prayer. Here she studied and practiced contemplative prayer, under the expert guidance of her wise mentors, themselves steeped in the ancient traditions of mystical contemplation and liturgical prayer.

In her sixteen years at the monastery, in addition to contemplative prayer, her major studies included philosophy, theology, biblical studies, and extended into other disciplines such as music, liturgy and writing.

Enriched beyond measure by her years of monastic experience, Marie moved on from that way of life, following the spiritual call to bring the life of contemplative experience into the “world”, beyond the walls of monastic solitude and silence.

The move from the solitary, silent life of a contemplative nun in the monastery, into the business world and parenthood, though dramatically different in many ways, yet further broadened her approach to spirituality, philosophy, psychology, personal development, new age, energetic healing and business.

Mysticism is no longer the privilege of monks and nuns, but the birthright of everyone, man, woman and child. This is the underlying force of what she teaches: personal empowerment through discovering one's inner spiritual consciousness and potential.

In her book, Holistic Wealth, A Guide to Creative and Joyful Living, she explains the ‘new’ paradigm of possibility thinking, the powerful role of the mind, emotions and feelings in the process of deliberate creating, and how to develop heartfelt conscious awareness to create real happiness in life. Encouraging all to integrate spirituality into every aspect of their daily life, this book inspires the reader to live creatively, with gratitude, love and joy.
