As a licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed mental health counselor (State of New York), and board certified clinical sexologist, I work with individuals as well as couples dealing with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, communication, and sexual andgender identity issues, to name a few. In therapy, I use a style influenced by Albert Ellis called Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. In my work with couples, I use this style combined with Imago Therapy, developed by Harville Hendrix.
I also work with the public and media, and have done segments for MTV, VH1, HBO and SpikeTV. I have been quoted in Details and Esquire magazines, wrote a regularly featured column called "Head Case" in the newspaper Camp. I frequently speak on issues related to mental health and human sexuality at local schools, churches, community groups, and organizations. I also write a blog.
In 2009 I was elected president of the New York Mental Health Counselor's Association Metro Chapter as well as Member at Large of the New York Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. In 2011 I will be serving as Executive Director of Our Collective Mental Health, a new mental health and wellness not-for-profit.

Insight comes with collaborating with the therapist to find out why things are the way they are in our life and where those negative forces come from that make us feel and do the things we feel and do.
Change comes from applying that insight in ways that will aid in shifting the patterns which, although comfortable, keep us stagnant and cause us to feel suffering, pain and dissatisfaction with ourselves and the world around us.
Sex therapy is appropriate for people of any age, gender, or sexual orientation, whether they seek it out as individuals, couples or as a group. Common reasons for seeking a sex therapist include orgasm difficulties, premature ejaculation, erection problems, desire discrepancies, pain, identity and orientation issues, inhibitions, medical problems affecting sex, unusual sexual desires or behaviors, or any issue related to sexual identity, expression, or function.
