I have worked in the medical field for over 30 years as a technologist, as a result I've seen many people over the years with a myriad of health problems.  I've also been able to have a behind the scenes view of the medical world as it relates to what I do.  I've come to realize that many of the problems people present with could possibly have been addressed with more education and more of a mindset directed towards prevention.  Many people let problems build to a point were they then seek medical help and expect the physicians to have all the answers to solve these problems almost immediately.  It's been estimated that in America the health care costs run into the trillions annually, and virtually all of that money is spent on treating diseases.  Despite this huge expenditure, more Americans are sicker than ever with diseases that are largely preventable.  I advocate others to educate themselves about how the human body works, investigate potential health problems they encounter, seek out a physician or medical support which can offer natural as well as conventional treatment plans, and look to be in prevention mode.  Look for ways to maintain your health naturally were possible, be in control of your health by watching your diet, incorporating some exercise into your routine and addressing individual health needs, whether it's vitamins or specific supplements.  The prevailing attitude in medicine, that is changing, has been geared to drug therapy for almost everything.  This attitude is fostered by the onslaught of commercials seen on mass media.  The controlling pharmaceutical industry that greatly influences the medical hierarchy, the capitalistic, greed induced nature of business practices in this country also impacts the medical community as it does in most other businesses.  Through it all I've managed to find a few alternatives to help guide others who are seeking, or looking for other options to try and maintain a reasonable level of health. Not an easy task in an ever toxic and polluted environment.
