Dreams bring wisdom from within us, leading to self-understanding and transformation. Although dreams address all levels of consciousness, most of our dreams tend to focus on life’s unresolved emotional situations - driven both by a natural tendency towards completion and closure, as well as deeper forces that evolve and transform us. The bizarre stories we call dreams, are actually the natural “language” of the dreaming brain which, if understood, would enable a conscious partnership with our own inner transformation. Understanding the "language" is not something your find outside yourself. It means understanding your own associations and feelings that are the origins and essence of the imagery in your dream.
Dreams can be easily understood if we "let the dream speak" in its own language of association, emotion and metaphor. Talking about the dream only engages the part of the brain that was asleep at the time. Becoming that which makes up your dreams, however, engages the part of the brain that created the dream. Suddenly you begin to know yourself through your dreams. To get started go to www.dreamscience.org and look under Dreamwork for the "6 magic questions" to help guide yourself through your dream imagery exploration. There you will also find a summary of some of the latest research on dreaming and a synopsis on the science and psychology of dreaming as well as an on-line radio series featuring some of the top experts in the field of dream psychology and research.
