A graduate of Aston University of Birmingham where Rupert Bowling studied Mechanical Engineering. He began his working career in a local manufacturing company, learning the true cut and thrust of business. After 4 years, he moved to work for Michelin Tyres as an Industrial Engineer. This was where he learnt more about the systems of improvement, Quality and productivity. Just in Time manufacture was the buzz, and Duran was considered the Guru on Quality.

His next step was to move to the commercial site of Michelin. It was then known in the industry that Michelin spent 16 weeks to train their sales staff, but it only took 14 weeks to train a New York cop, to go on the streets with a Gun in their hand. This intensive training was a superb stepping stone to Rupert next career, which was to move back into the Company he started at, but with the idea of a subsequent management buy out. Fortunately for Rupert at the time, this did not happen, and the company was sold on, and was bankrupt in 12 months.

This was 1999, and the web was an idea still. Everyone was on Dial up, and competition was low. Search Engines could still be manipulated by changing the meta tags www.EshopOne.co.uk was born, with the plan to sell everything to everyone. By 2001, the market was still comparatively small, and Rupert concentrated his efforts on building a Menswear Brand online, Building www.EshopOne.com to service the growing online need for Mens Suits, at Internet prices.

The success of his own business, has lead him to be involved in a number of exciting Websites on a Consultancy basis, and as one of the first members of WebmasterWorld, has the honour to know some of the great names in Web search, as the industry has matured.
