Swami Param

Real Yoga Expert

A Swami is, of course, a qualified teacher of the various real Yogas that constitute the Hindu Dharma/religion. All Swamis are unmarried Hindu/Yoga teachers who begin their studies as a Brahmacarya/student. This studentship lasts for at least twelve years. After this vital Hindu/Yogic study, the Brahmacari spends at least one year in relative seculsion as a Yogi. Many real Yogis (not the modern notion of a yogi/yogini) remain in this anonomyous state, however some Yogis come out of this seclusion and begin an active teaching mission as a Swami. It is the role of the Swami to protect and teach the Hindu/Yogic Dharma.

The Classical Yoga Hindu Academy's mission is to inform and teach the genuine Classical Hindu Yogas; i.e., Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga along with Mantra Yoga, Japa Yoga, Nada Yoga and Kundalini Yoga. The Academy, specifically, targets the modern spurious yoga movement that has attempted to divorce real Yoga from Hinduism and create an exercise business and/or vague "universal spirituality."
