Telka Arend-Ritter M.S.W., A.C.S.W. A graduate of Michigan State University, has practiced individual and group therapy, and facilitated workshops, seminars, and classes for the past 20 years. She is the author and facilitator of Life Solutions Stress Management Series an 11 session, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral group therapy program designed specifically for the treatment of anger, mood disorders, PTSD, poor self-confidence, passivity, relationship problems, divorce adjustment, parenting concerns, self-defeating behaviors, addictions, and stress. Telka's 11 session program incorporates the use of her self-help workbook, Change Your Thoughts, Heal Your Life. A native of Michigan, Telka resides in Holt with her psychologist husband, teenage daughter and middle-aged cat.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Programs
The original version of Telka's Life Solutions program was developed in 1989. Solution focused, cognitive behavioral (SFCB) therapy was gaining popularity as an effective treatment method replacing some of the more traditional “problem focused” psychotherapies. As one of the presenters at a week long educational program in Madison Wisconsin, Telka's job was to train other therapists in this new treatment approach. During the final day of training, a therapist made a statement that he thought at the time was a joke. He said, "If you ever decide to share this material with the public, you will put us all out of business." The idea of Life Solutions was born. Telka's Life Solutions addresses the most common life problems and therefore, the most common issues raised in therapy. Therapeutic knowledge and coping tools are provided to heal:
* Mood disorders: Depression, Anxiety, PTSD.
* Relationship problems.
* Anger.
* Stress.
* Self-defeating behaviors.
* Poor self-esteem, passivity.
* Dealing with difficult people.
