There’s been significant buzz around Twitter ever since it’s launch a couple of years ago. The micro-blogging service is morphing again into a high touch marketing tool. Many companies are harnessing the power of direct communication with their customers, whether they utilize Twitter to answer questions about their services and products like Whole Foods, or to share a more personal side of the people who run the company like Zappos. If used correctly, Twitter can provide companies with an incredible opportunity to interact and engage with customers.

Personally, I like LinkedIn and Facebook better than Twitter. At least there's more to view and do there with albums and such. I admit I haven't been on Twitter in awhile though.

I love Twitter and have met some great people. Others have replied that Facebook and Linkedin are better. I say they all have their purpose. Twitter and Facebook can be linked so you don't have to spend time on both. Look me up on Twitter at Kyanisunrise Steve

I was introduced to twitter through Stephen Pierce ( #1 advocate on the internet) who is my personal enroller in My Shopping Genie. He was just interviewed on Fox News regarding the use of twitter and his success. He also introduced me to this website just tonight! : ) Social networks are great relationship building, leading to potential product users and or Business Partners. Its a way to reach the masses! There is no way in the world, one could reach out to so many, if it were not for all these social networks to tap into. I am on facebook and myspace as well. I have found friends that I haven't talked to in years. And like Steve has mentioned above, I have linked twitter to MySpace and face Book. I just love this technology. And this site is incredible with every aspect you can think of to Improve yourself and market at the same time.

Count me in as another tweep! I've learned a lot there, had some fun, made some great connections. Whomever came up with the "6 degrees of separation" theory had best consider revising...

I tried twitter and found it wanting.... I was not happy with it at all. Also I can tell you if you are using twitter, and you are using loud tweet or other functions, where your tweet is then posted also in other places MOST folks find it very, very annoying.
Reading the same thing, from the same person, again and again and again.
Also my experience, was there were a LOT of folks spewing all day long, and not really reading or replying or relationship building there. It seemed a rare few.
I have pulled my twitter accounts and am much happier with the social networking places. I have been amazed at the feedback I have received from others, and relationships I have built from sharing my experience - and not just nodding along at the concept!

Twitter brings lots of traffic to my blog, but it's more like a cocktail party. Facebook and LinkedIn work better for marketing in my case.

Personally, I find Twitter insufferable. What a lot of hulabaloo over nothing! Now that's not to deny its marketing potential for a small number of people who devote sufficient time and patience. But Twitter's usefulness will be short-lived... so is it worth the trouble? When I started online marketing MySpace was all the rage... "make a million on Myspace" etc. etc. Then came Facebook and now it's Twitter. None of them last long so get what you can out of it while it lasts. But I prefer to put my efforts into practical strategies for long-term success.
