If you seek happiness, then you must start with three basic steps to make it automatic. Happiness is your natural state but you must remove what is blocking it.
As a Life Coach and working with thousands of "big players" in their respective industries, the process they used to get there often seems inapplicable to the other aspects of life like happiness or peace.
Although I have a blog post which are explains these three basic steps here:
How to Make Happiness Automatic
Would any one like to share any three tips to make happiness automatic?
Where would one start in order to have consistent happiness?
Share your thoughts!

Hi Matthew
I am a firm believer that in order to achieve true happiness we must be true to ourselves. We must listen to our inner voice. That voice that tells us what we need to do to make us happy.
Often we are not true to ourselves. Many people are in jobs or businesses that they hate. They may be making a decent living yet they are miserable. They know that they need to make some changes in their lives yet they put it off.
It is usually a job, a relationship, lack of money or failing to feed our creative urge, that causes unhappiness in our lives. But if we ignore our inner voice and continue to stay in jobs or relationships that do not fulfill us we will never acquire true, long term happiness.
Happiness is the key to success, success is not the key to happiness. Many people think that if they had more money they would be happier. Money is also not the key to happiness, just look at Hollywood. There are many actors who earn millions of dollars a year yet by their own admission, they are not happy. And some are actually in a huge amount of debt.
So my three tips would be:
1) listen to your inner voice. If your current job or relationship is not working for you take steps to improve it. Likewise if you have money problems, look at ways to improve your situation. There are really only two ways to do that. Increase your income or reduce your spending.
2) find a way to do what you love. Whether it be a hobby, sport or career that you are passionate about try to find a way to indulge yourself in it on a regular basis.
3) take action! - don't put it off. Many people mistakenly believe that this is 'their lot' in life. They aren't happy, yet they acknowledge that things could be worse. So they settle for what they have even if it is not fulfilling.
You can live a life of happiness. It may mean that you need to make a few changes in your life. Depending on your circumstances, those changes may be small or they could be major life changes.
The thing about happiness is we usually know what we need to do to achieve it. It is the 'doing' that we find difficult.
