* Acupuncture may hike odds of pregnancy -- Study: Timing practice before or
after embryo transfer boosts conception *
It sounds far-fetched -- sticking needles in women to help them become pregnant
-- but a scientific review suggests that acupuncture might improve the odds of
conceiving if done right before or after embryos are placed in the womb.
The surprising finding is far from proven, and there are only theories for how
and why acupuncture might work. However, some fertility specialists say they are
hopeful that this relatively inexpensive and simple treatment might ultimately
prove to be a useful add-on to traditional methods.

* Study: Artificial Sweeteners Increase Weight Gain Odds -- Fake Sweeteners,
Lack of Calories May Trick Brain *
Calorie-conscious consumers who opt for diet sodas may gain more weight than if
they drank sugary drinks because of artificial sweeteners contained in the diet
sodas, according to a new study.
A Purdue University study released Sunday in the journal Behavioral Neuroscience
reported that rats on diets containing the artificial sweetener saccharin gained
more weight than rats given sugary food, casting doubt on the benefits of
low-calorie sweeteners.

* 100 within reach, even with diabetes, heart disease *
Living to 100 is easier than you might think.
Surprising new research suggests that even people who develop heart disease or
diabetes late in life have a decent shot at reaching the century mark.
"It has been generally assumed that living to 100 years of age was limited to
those who had not developed chronic illness," said Dr. William Hall of the
University of Rochester.

* Trip and fall lately? Tell your doctor *
Trip and fall lately? Seniors often won't mention it unless they're hurt, but
new guidelines say that first tumble is a good predictor of who's at risk for
another, more serious fall. With deaths from falls increasing, the guidelines
urge doctors to ask patients to 'fess up.
Better would be to prevent even that first fall. Now scientists are testing
simple wrist monitors that may one day be used to predict who is most likely to
topple, by tracking how stable they are with each step on any given day.

* Chocolate *
In my book, "The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth," I list chocolate as one of the
best foods on earth.
Chocolate is also one of the seven foods that make up what researchers writing
in the British Medical Journal called "The Polymeal," a kind of supermeal that,
if eaten daily or even a few times a week, could conceivably reduce heart
disease and death by double-digit percentages.
So what about this new study that suggests that regular consumption of chocolate
may weaken bone density and strength, which in turn could increase the risk of
health problems such as osteoporosis and fracture?

* Spiritual Healing *
Some 10 days from now, I will teach a Spiritual Healing Intensive about how to
detect and then remove different kinds of astral influence. Aura readers, even
very skilled ones, don't necessarily notice these things unless they have
received training. These influences are strong and very common, but subtle.
Incidentally, by "astral influence," I don't mean some far-out astrological
phenomenon but, instead, a practical, easy kind of healing that most people
never think to do.

* Abundance *
Has anyone ever told you that you can't have your cake and eat it too?
As a child I didn't really understand why I couldn't have my cake and eat it
too. Every year for my birthday I'd get a cake and I'd actually eat it.
You know, when people ask me what I do, I say, "Whatever I want." Not because
I'm a trust fund baby with no responsibilities. On the contrary, I'm a divorced,
single mother. I'm the sole income earner for my family. Two and a half years
ago, I lost everything I owned in Hurricane Katrina. And since then, I've had a
more phenomenal life that I ever did before the storm, a life of massive
abundance and joy.
