Every time I see my patient, Eddie*, I always tell him, “Eddie, when I grow up, I want to be like you.”

Eddie buzzes with energy. At 88 years old he’s full of life – more healthy and active than many 20-year-olds I know.

Eddie says the secret to his vitality is coffee. In my opinion the jury’s still out on whether Eddie’s right here. I’ve known him long enough to know he does a lot of good things for his health that contribute to the spring in his step.

But there’s certainly something you can learn from Eddie and other devoted coffee drinkers . . . coffee is an inextricable part of their daily routine. Committed coffee drinkers won’t go a day without at least one cup.

It’s a habit I urge my patients to adopt when it comes to chlorella.

As I tell them, if you really want to enjoy the full benefits of eating chlorella . . .

Take chlorella every day!

Of course it’s one thing to know something’s good for you.
It’s another to really understand why it’s good for you.
For this reason, I’m sharing 3 specific – and surprising – reasons to take chlorella every day.

Reason #1: You Can Survive On Only Chlorella

Whoa, you may be thinking. I’m willing to consider take chlorella regularly – but this is going a little too far! Only chlorella for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Relax, I’m not pushing an exclusive chlorella diet. Far from it. I love my yogurt!

But if you were in a pinch, you could live on chlorella alone. NASA has studied it as an optimum food for space flight. And chlorella researcher, Dr. Leon DeSeblo, who lived to be 107 years old spent weeks at a time eating only chlorella.

Why is this so important?

Chlorella’s complete nutrition gives you a solid foundation that’s hard to find in most other foods.

Most supplements you take – vitamin D, fish oil, calcium – are really only part of a wholesome diet. They provide important nutrition. I often recommend them to my patients to use strategically for various health concerns.
But you would get sick and die if you tried to subsist on any of these supplements alone.

Chlorella, on the other hand, gives you everything you need to live. Chlorella contains ounce per ounce more protein than steak, 22 vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, and more concentrated nucleic acids than any other food.

When I work with my patients to build a wholesome, comprehensive nutrition program, I always start with chlorella. It’s the foundation of the supplementation pyramid I recommend.

Reason #2: Your Body Can’t Digest Chlorella

What?! I should eat something every day that I can’t digest? That doesn’t make sense!

Let me clarify, not everything in chlorella is indigestible. Only chlorella’s tough fibers are impossible for your digestive system to break down.

But just because you can’t digest chlorella’s tough fibers, doesn’t mean they’re not good for you. In fact, chlorella’s fibers provide indispensable nourishment to the probiotic bacteria living inside of you.

Chlorella’s fibers are classified as prebiotics. The friendly, probiotic bacteria inside of you love to snack on these special fibrous oligosaccharides. Probiotic bacteria in your colon turn these fibers into a special energy pack that allows them to multiply and thrive.

According to one lab study, chlorella’s prebiotic goodness helped triple the growth of helpful bacteria.[1]

And as we’re discovering more and more, when these probiotic bacteria do well, we thrive too! Our microbiome, the complex ecosystem that lives inside of us, helps our digestive system, our immune system . . . it even shapes our moods and may keep us thin!

When you take chlorella with its indigestible fibers every day, you’re giving these important bacteria the kind of attention and nutritional love they’ll pass right back to you.

Reason #3: This Green Algae Is Yellow

Now I’m sure you’re confused by this reason. As you may have noticed, chlorella is a beautiful deep green.
In fact, it’s known for its unmatched concentration of the green pigment chlorophyll.

But hidden under all that green chlorophyll is a rich supply of another pigment that is just as amazing when it comes to its health benefits. And this pigment is bright yellow.

What is this pigment? Lutein.

Eye doctors are particularly excited about lutein because of the role it plays in vision health. Lutein is found in extremely high concentrations in your eye, particularly in the retina, lens and macula. Lutein protects the eye from high intensity light waves, like the ultraviolet rays in sunlight.[2]

Low lutein levels have been associated with problems later in life like macular degeneration.[3]

Recently published research from Japan indicates low levels of this free-radical scavenging pigment may also be linked to Alzheimer’s as well.

One 3 gram serving of chlorella has 4 micrograms of this special yellow pigment hidden under its greenness. Four micrograms is more than 60% of the total amount of lutein recommended on a daily basis for optimum eye health.

So if you want to keep your eyes sharp – and perhaps your brain as well as this newly published preliminary research indicates – make sure you get chlorella’s yellow nutrition as well.

Take Chlorella Every Day And Be Astonished How Good You Feel

It’s almost a routine. Every time I see Eddie, he reminds me of his coffee secret. And I agree with him that if you take care of your health overall, a cup a day won’t do much harm. And it may even do some good.

But then it’s my turn. And I always take the opportunity to remind him to keep up the chlorella each day, too.

Based on the hundreds of patients I’ve seen and the research that continues to pile up, there’s nothing – not even coffee - that can make you feel better.

I take it every day. And I make sure my children take it as well.

And now you’ve got 3 unexpected and convincing reasons to make this super green part of your daily routine, too. Join us! You’ll be astonished at how good it can make you feel!
