Blog internet marketing is one of the easier methods of marketing your business, product, or service online, and it's actually quite a bit of fun to boot! Now why are blogs (short for weblogs) such a good way to marketing your business online? Here are three reasons.

1. If you have a blog you don't necessarily have to have a website for your business, depending on what kind of business you have. Put enough useful and interesting content on your blog (post regularly for successful blog internet marketing) and you'll soon develop an audience of dedicated followers. How's that for loyalty?

2. Blogs are easy to use. You don't have to know any programming or buy any extra software to have a great blog. All you have to do is write interesting content and then click the Publish button. Voila, you have instant internet content that contributes to your blog internet marketing campaign.

3. Blogs rank high in search engines. If you don't believe this, type in a few search terms into Google or another popular search engine and see how many top listings are from blogs rather than traditional websites. This speaks volumes for the value of blog internet marketing.

So using blog internet marketing is clearly a wise strategy if you want to promote your online business. Now onto the care and feeding of your blog. How do you keep your blog in top shape? Here are a few simple tips:

- Post regularly to your blog. You don't have to do long posts, even 250 words per post will do, but post almost everyday if you can.
- Try to include links to your main website in every blog post.
- Include keywords in your post that are relevant to your main website's topic. This gives your blog keyword density and relevancy when search engines crawl over your blog.
- Mix business and personal posts if you like, but include enough business posts to show prospects that you are active and growing in your business.
- In your personal posts, include enough of your own personal style and details that a prospect feels like they know you when they are done reading your blog. This will help you more easily establish a personal connection with the person if you make phone contact later.
- Be sure to post one or more of your pictures to your blog. This also helps with making a personal connection with prospects.

If this sounds like a lot of work don't get disheartened. Blog internet marketing really does work and you'll eventually develop the right "muscles" to help you post interesting stuff to your blog on a daily basis. But in the meantime, if you feel totally overwhelmed at this prospect, consider getting a buddy or partner to help you. You and your buddy can keep it simple and just brainstorm together, or you can make the partnership more in-depth by actually sharing a blog (if your two businesses mesh well together). Two heads are often better than one.
