L. Ron Hubbard wrote Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health 58 years ago, and on the anniversary of its publication, representatives of the Church of Scientology International informed Scientologists the world over about the unprecedented number of new Dianetics groups in just the last year.

Over 140 new groups opened all over the world—from Toronto to Tokyo, Burbank to Budapest, and in Slovenia, Peru, Pakistan, Macedonia, India and United Arab Emirates.

In Tel Aviv, one Dianetics group has a bookstore and center where they sell more than 200 Dianetics books and provide Dianetics seminars to more than 100 people each week. The new Vitoria Dianetics Group in Spain delivered over 8,000 hours of Dianetics counseling and introduced more than 2,000 people to the Dianetics book over the past 12 months, while the Dubai Dianetics Center has introduced more than 1,000 people to Dianetics books and counseling through seminars.

In all, Dianetics counseling groups have introduced over 375,000 people to Dianetics in the last year.

At the event, Church officials presented Dianetics Achievement Awards to Dianeticists whose work to help people surpassed all normal expectation.

For the past 18 years, Emanuele Dimastromatteo has been helping people through the Church of Scientology Mission of Barletta, Italy, and over the past year alone he introduced 3,250 people to the book Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health.

Having helped more than 850 people helped with Dianetics counseling over the years, Ana Mercedes Villegas, from Bogotá Colombia, won the honors as Top Dianetics Auditor. In addition to delivering seminars and workshops and helping 20 other Dianetics auditors throughout the region, Ana personally gave over 2,000 hours of Dianetics auditing this year. This brings her lifetime total to more than 27,000 hours of Dianetics counseling, in which she has helped people gain freedom from psychosomatic illnesses and fully recover their self-confidence and love of life.

The Santa Cruz Dianetics Group won top honors for this year's best Dianetics group, and Janeth Ortuno accepted the award on behalf of her team, who helped over a thousand new people learn about Dianetics through seminars and auditing this year.
