Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic pain illness characterized by widespread musculoskeletal aches, pain, and stiffness, soft tissue tenderness, general fatigue, and sleep disturbances. The most common sites of pain include the neck, back, shoulders, pelvic girdle, and hands, but any body part can be affected. Fibromyalgia patients experience a range of symptoms of varying intensities that wax and wane over time.

I am a Ph.D. in the Michigan area working with Fibromyalgia patients.

For the past two years I have been collaborating with physicians from Beaumont and Providence Hospitals, in Michigan, on a book for fibromyalgia patients and professionals.

The physicians are from many different specialties and committed to helping and treating fibromyalgia patients.

There is also a selection of patient-chapters. These chapters are from a very diverse group of patients, including information on pregnancy and raising a family; while battling the problems of fibromyalgia, an adolescents struggle of growing up, with the dis-order, and attending school and a male’s perspective of living and dealing with fibromyalgia.

Physician chapters present: research on ADHD and fibromyalgia: are they related, IBS, updated pharmacological treatment of fibromyalgia, body-mind connection, ocular (eye) concerns - as a result off medications used for fibromyalgia, problems caused by poor body alignment, nutritional impact on neurotransmitters that effect pain levels, sleep & mood and interventional pain management procedures to address chronic pain abnormalities. In addition many other important topics are presented.

Dr. Daniel Clauw , and Lynne Matallana, President of the National Fibromyalgia Association reviewed the book and gave it rave reviews.

I am sending the link, to the book; it will released end of May.
