Why do we eat? Because we enjoy it. And we enjoy it enough that very few would want to give up the habit if they could. Thank God He created us with the ability to taste and smell and that He put such delightful flavors and aromas into the food He has appointed for us to eat. But even if we didn't enjoy it, we would still have to eat. Food is needed to furnish fuel to supply energy to the body, to provide material to repair and build tissues, and to supply substances that act to regulate body processes.
Any chemical substance found in foods that functions in one or more of these ways is known as a nutrient. The seven basic classes of nutrients are carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water. Diet and exercise are an integral part of staying fit and healthy. Proper nutrition along with exercise will help keep you in shape and keep you healthy. There are many different types of diets and exercise for all types of people. Exercise is an integral part of staying fit and healthy. Proper nutrition along with Proper diet does not always mean a fad or crash diet. It means eating healthy and cutting out the things that are bad for you. When combined with exercise this will help you maintain the proper weight. It is all about getting the proper nutrition in the proper portions and cutting out the foods that are bad or empty calories. You want to eat more foods that are good for you and foods that will cut out the cravings to eat more.
Fitness and healthy living cannot be attained without the exercise of one's will. An overweight person cannot be fit and healthy just be watching TV all day and expecting to wake up slim the next morning. Fitness and healthy living requires a lot of effort and involves many decision-making opportunities. One must be really determined to improve his diet and religiously follow exercise routines to be able to resist temptations that may go along the way.
When it comes to healthy living, diet and exercise are two sides of the same coin. Cook with less fat—bake, roast, or poach foods instead of frying.
Fresh, cold water, changed daily, (usually provided in a drip bottle to prevent contamination). Avoid distilled water. Avoid water high in minerals, especially if high in calcium. Do not put vitamins or medications in the water.
Fruits and vegetables should be the centerpiece of your daily diet. Choose dark colored vegetables, such as leafy greens, for your salad. Select fruits that are high in essential vitamins, such as bananas or oranges. Begin by slowly increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables that you eat on a daily basis, and before you know it, you'll be eating the proper amount of fresh foods.
