Acne is an annoying skin condition that affects people of every age, gender, and race. Acne is an age old problem that has likely been plaguing people for centuries.

There are many products for acne on the market and Americans have been spending more than $100 million each year on over-the counter acne skin care medications. Clearly, acne sufferers have a wide array of choices to treat their condition.

Did you know that there are numerous items in your kitchen pantry that can be used as natural skin care for acne? For example, plain yogurt contains enzymes that acts on the bacteria. By applying a mask of plain yogurt each day, you can clear your skin. This treatment is highly thought of in the Middle East.

If a mask of plain yogurt sounds bland, then squeeze a few drops of citrus juice into the yogurt. Lemons, limes, and oranges can have an invigorating and exfoliating effect on your complexion. (See Orange Yogurt Mask recipe at http://www.organicpassion.info).

Of course, by applying just the juice on affected areas can also be an effective natural skin treatment. However, please note that the acids present in citrus fruit can irritate sensitive skin.

Another potent treatment is a mixture of Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar. This mixture can have a powerful anti-microbial effect on blemishes. Honey has anti-bacterial properties, while the vinegar acts as a toning agent on your skin. To make this treatment stronger, add some garlic into it. This is because garlic has antiseptic qualities. Because garlic can burn, use it sparingly.

If you are allergic to honey, then the Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda mixture is your solution. You will need 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a 250mg water. To learn more about the benefits of baking soda, click here.

If your breakouts are mild, you may be suffering from a simple case of clogged pores. Exfoliation can remedy this condition. You can follow this simple recipe for healthy and glowing skin:

1. Open your pores by holding your face over a steaming bowl of water for about 10 minutes. If desired, you can add mint and rosemary, as both herbs have cleansing properties.
2. Gently rub your face with an oatmeal scrub.
3. Place a few drops of lemon juice in water and splash your face.

Of course, home remedies are not the silver-bullet to acne treatment, and it will take some time to see results. While waiting for visible improvements, you will need to be discipline in watching your diet (i.e. no Cola, no junk food, no caffeine) and lifestyle.

As part of your diet, you will need to include more vegetable and fruits. Drinking carrot juices can help in curing acne. This is because carrots contain a rich source of vitamin A-like carotenoids. These phytochemicals have been shown to enhance the health of skin and repair it when it is damaged. We have included some palatable carrot juice recipes here. Last but not least, remember to exercise, and drink plenty of water.
