We are all generally a little skeptical when we hear others start to speak about the powers of the subconscious mind. Infomercials and store shelves have lots of products and systems that claim to teach you a language in your sleep or curb cigarette cravings through hypnosis. Some even say they can teach you to control events or people with mind power. They all claim to influence the subconscious mind. But what do they really do, and can you trust them?

For the answer to this, we need to examine the scientific research on the subconscious. There is indeed evidence that we can be led, in certain circumstances, to make split second decisions and judgements of which we are totally unaware. These are generally caused by tapping into deep-seated beliefs and past experiences that affect us in ways we do not even realize.

The subconscious mind is powerful but it does have its limits. How and when you can engage the subconscious is a complex thing, so be cautious of products that make claims like these. It's often the case that they are unscientific scams, or poorly made products that fail to deliver on their promises.

There are many audio programs in the market which claim to provide subliminal messages. Quite a few of these are, in most cases, just recordings of nature sounds, melodies with an undertone or similar recordings which have no message at all. They are mastered with very low message levels and cannot be detected easily. In almost all these cases the quality of the recordings is very poor and cannot preserve the content, if any, at such a low level. These are scams and they can get away with it mostly since you are not supposed to be able to hear them in the first place.

Yet others offer actual subliminal communications, however they don't effectively reach into the depths of your beliefs and past events. Those from different circumstances react to different stimuli, and any system needs to consider this.

Therefore, if anyone claims they can dig into your subconscious in order to uncover secret mind powers or create wealth for you without any effort, you should painstakingly research their promises. Do they have any evidence that their schemes in fact work, and are formulated to a degree of quality. Unless they can provide this evidence, you need to keep looking.

Specifically, look for information about the testing that they did before releasing their program, and the quality control and testing procedures that they have in place to monitor their production. Don't trust empty promises and testimonials from people whose background and relationship to the company is withheld. They may be receiving compensation from the company, or even just deluded. Only by doing your own research and maintaining a skeptical eye can you judge a program's efficacy.
