Keep Your Balance in the Bathroom

If you find that the balance in your life is out of balance a few re-adjustments in your bathroom may be the cure. Your bathroom is where you go to relax and to feel at ease with a long soak in the tub. This is a place where you can finally get away from the world and get the privacy (and the silence) you crave. By using Feng Shui principles to choose the colors for your bathroom, you can attract the calming serenity your bathroom needs in order to restore you each time you walk in the door. It can also create more energetic balance in your life.

Earthy Tones for a Grounded Feeling

Since the bathroom is a place where water energy reigns, you need to choose Feng Shui colors that are the opposite from the cool blues of water in energy to restore the balance. Some of the best tones to use in a bathroom include browns, oranges, and yellows since they add warmth and the feeling of earth. Think about adding colors like rusty orange or a muted brown. These colors will not only add earth to the bathroom, but they will also begin to make the room feel warmer, more inviting. You might also want to look into muted reds and greens to help with the Feng Shui energy of grounding and earth.

These colors will ground the bathroom’s water energy and keep that moving water energy from draining the life out of this room and your life. You do want to avoid colors like blues as this only adds to the flow of water energy, which can keep your life out of balanced.

Also stay away for water scenes in your art and accessories. This will add even more water energy to an already abundant source and cause you to create more balance.

A Clean Vision

For some, the idea of white can feel very stark and even difficult in a bathroom, or in any room. The whiteness is just a little too sterile for some. White is actually a blank canvas and repels energy. But for others, this crisp color provides a sense of serenity, calm, quietness and simplicity. The lack of color allows the mind to wander away, and to finally relax and escape from the world. With the color white there are no distractions. The only concern in Feng Shui is that you don’t use all white as that can be overly calming to some, and moderation is always the key. If you choose to use white walls make sure that you are adding color energy in the room in your accessories.

No matter what color you choose for your bathroom, you will want to think about the energy that is already present and what energy you want to bring into the room. Sometimes, Feng Shui has it right, but if these colors don’t appeal to you, don’t be afraid to try something else too.
