Mediumship is a process whereby a channel communicates between a dead spirit and the living world. The medium or channel involved is said to be in a state of trance, where there is no eye movement, decreased sensation to touch, a lowering of the heart rate and deep breathing. The medium syncs his energy with that of the dead spirit and relays messages between the two different worlds. So, how is one to know if he or she is consulting genuine mediumship? With life becoming more and more expensive, people are known to do desperate measures in order to meet their expenses and live their expectations.
One of the professions people sign up for is pretending to mediate between the physical world and the spirit. These people are aware of the grief and sorrow felt by the ones left behind and even so capitalize on their pain by lying that they have received messages from their family or friends who have moved on. The bereaved people believe what they are told and immediately open up about the dead person‘s personal information, associations when they were living and their way of life. They do this thinking that the medium knows this information. The phony individual then goes on to use this for his own benefit in earning a living.
To truly discern if the mediumship used is genuine, a thorough check into the compensation the medium asks to be awarded is required. If it’s high, then the medium is only doing it for financial gain. Also, the channeler cannot guarantee it will happen as this is determined by the dead spirit. There has to be just the right energies and flow for the medium to receive messages from the spiritual world which is determined by the spirit. The message relayed by the medium from the dead person should only be messages of their wellbeing, love, healing and inspiring. The mediumship should not consist of financial advice or messages on how the living people must live their life; if it does then it is not genuine as spirits are not known to present such worldly advice.
If done right and with no ulterior motives it can be a source of comfort for the grieving family member or friend. There are genuine mediums out there who truly want to link the spirits with their loved ones mostly because they care and want to ease the sorrow that the bereaved living is feeling. The medium should never be given any personal information such as date of birth or even name as they tend to take this information and pass it back to the living. Channeling is not always successful and may have to be repeated in order to receive the message from the spirit world.
