Eschatology (End-time Bible Prophecy) is an extremely interesting and intriguing subject in the Holy Scriptures. Jesus Christ The Messiah fulfilled 100s of specific and detailed prophecies of the Old Testament at His First Coming and during His Gospel Ministry on earth. God’s Word also gives 100s of other detailed prophecies concerning the future Second Coming of The Son of God – Jesus Christ. The future of Christian people and the future destiny of the world itself, are covered in these prophecies in incredible detail as well. These reveal events to us such as the "Rapture", meaning the sudden resurrection of God’s people living and dead (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-52) and the “Second Coming of Christ" (Jude1: 14-15). Also, foretold is the "Great Tribulation", meaning a 7 year time of God’s final wrath and Satan’s final attempt to destroy God’s image and likeness (mankind - Genesis 1:26 and Matthew 24:21) and Christ's future 1,000-years afterward, of ruling the governments of the earth; His Millennial Reign of our presently fallen world (Isaiah 9:6).

These foretold events include the future re-creation of the earth and God's future glorious city, the "New Jerusalem" joining with earth (Revelation 21:1-3). God and his people will dwell together for eternity on the newly made earth and in this great city of mansions of indescribable beauty, called “the New Jerusalem”. We have within God’s Word, Jesus' – "Sermon on the Mount"; his end-times prophecy teaching from Matthew Chapter 24. Of course, we also have the -beyond wonderful-, Gospel of Jesus Christ, including God's only begotten Son, dying on the cross for our redemption from sin, through His Precious Blood and His Resurrection from the dead – a grace provision for Salvation, not of works we have done but God's gift. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).

End-time events are already happening, before our very eyes, however, Jesus also said of the things I mention above, that "All these are the beginning of sorrows." (beginning of judgements - Matthew 24:8). He’s revealing the fact that things will get much worse, but I believe, as do many Christians, that "The Rapture" (our “catching away” to Heaven”), will take place before the horror of "The Great Tribulation" begins to occur (1 Thessalonians 1:10). This will be a seven-year period, in which God allows Satan a final wrath on unredeemed mankind who are in God's image (Genesis 1:26 and Revelation 12:12). God also sends His wrath on a world that rejected His Son (Revelation 19:15). In the meantime, lots of non-believers in God's Word and backslidden Christians are making light of what we are witnessing before our very own eyes and ears.

"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 3:3-4).

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10

So, will you be a scoffer as described in the first scripture quoted above (some are phony – they believe but are embracing sin - John 3:20)? Or, will you accept God's gift of salvation, obtained for us by His Son – Jesus Our Messiah and walk the rest of your life, in the light of it, for eternal life?

Author's Bio:

I am a graduate of Liberty University (1996) for completion of theological studies. Bible studies are one of my most-covered book-subjects. I am however, careful to only address those subjects that I believe God has given me correct revelation on. I was a Christian Youth Minister, beginning in the 1980s for approximately 20 years (between youth ministries I served in other church capacities as well). I was also a guest speaker to churches, who invited me to present important Bible teachings to their evangelical congregations, during those same years. I am a redeemed man, who has received salvation by acceptance of Jesus Christ and what he did for me in shedding his blood and dying for me on the cross and in his resurrection from the dead, giving me the promise of eternal life, purely by grace (not due to anything I have done, other than to accept it freely).
