Do you find it difficult to motivate yourself? Are you always putting things off till tomorrow? Do you feel tired and lacking in energy? If you answer "yes" to one, or all, of these questions maybe you are running slow in your life and need some help to speed up.

Scientists agree that speed creates energy. So, if you work at speed then you should gain energy. In general, this tends to be true. You could have a chore to do that you don’t feel like doing. If you just get on with it, rather than procrastinating, then you will find that it is much easier to do than you thought it would and it gets done faster than you expected. The forward motion of your intention in starting the job gives you the energy to finish it.

In between your activities, it’s important to make time to relax. However, too much relaxation can reduce motivation and make it hard to get on with anything. If you stay in bed late at the weekend, by the time you get up it can feel like there is nothing left of the day and there’s no point in trying to achieve anything. You may wind up watching TV and feeling as exhausted at the end of the day as if you had been working hard all day!

Of course, if you do feel tired all the time you may be ill or lack the right foods and nutrients. If you are suffering from constant tiredness, then get yourself checked out by your health practitioner. Sometimes it could be a simple lack of iron or other deficiency, or you might need to do a detox to clear your body of waste matter that is weighing you down. If you are feeling unmotivated and uninterested in life, you could be suffering from mild depression. Try taking some St John’s Wort or Serotone 5HTP; these natural supplements can make a big difference to this condition. Again, get the help of your health practitioner if you are unsure how to help yourself.

Once you are sure there is no physical reason for your tiredness, try taking these steps:

Have a look at your lifestyle. Do you have an aim in life? Do you have a goal that you makes you feel motivated and excited? If you can’t think of anything then try this. Get yourself a pen and paper. Sit down quietly and think about the times in your life when you have felt so involved and engaged in something that you forgot where you were and lost track of time. Write down what you were doing at those times. You can be sure that in the list you create you will find some clues to the things that can make your life feel more worthwhile.

Start by choosing one thing on your list. Choose one that particularly inspires you and think about how you could bring more of it into your life. If it is dancing, for example, you could find out about the different kinds of dancing classes or clubs in your area and about times and costs. Then do something to make it happen:- enroll in a class, get together with some friends and go out dancing at a club, throw a themed party including the kind of dancing you like best, etc.

Once you become in something that really excites you you will find it easy to transfer your motivation to other areas of your life. Make it fun, make it exciting, enjoy it and you will have more energy and more enthusiasm for everything you do.
