A Message of Love
We have often heard the maxim, “Perfect love cast out all fear.“ What is perfect love and why is love so important? It can often be a challenge to love. When Kahlil Gibran describes love, he says, “the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.” No one enjoys being pricked or wounded, even by love‘s sword.

The fallen angels fell because they refused to love. When we look at the three aspects of divinity--love, wisdom and power--love is the quality that the fallen angels would not sustain. They were wise as serpents and they wielded great power, but they forsook love. Satan said to Jesus, “ All this power I will give you, if you will worship me.” Satan fell on the line of love through disobedience, stubbornness and defiance of the law of love. He was the fallen angel Jesus most directly contended with. Jesus came, as he said, to fulfill the law, which is love. He came to undo the works of the devil and to teach us to love. That was his greatest admonishment, “Love one another as I have loved you.“

We have all taken on, to a greater or lesser extent, the rebellious consciousness of the fallen angels that lurks in the folds and hidden recesses of our personal psychology. Love, which manifests as caring, becomes the antidote and provides the way out. That is why the apostle Paul said, “Now abides faith, hope and love. These three, but the greatest of these is love.”

In the Old Testament, we read the story of Cain and Abel. Each had an offering for God. Abel‘s offering was acceptable and Cain‘s offering was refused. Why? Because even through it was humanly perfect, Cain’s offering lacked in love. We have to root out the Cain consciousness in our own nature and become “able” to love.

The Institute of Heartmath has shown scientifically how the power of love works, and that you are far more powerful when you are coming from a place of love, gratitude and appreciation than when you are not. Every time we sustain feelings of love towards another, we generate an electrical field even at a distance and influence others in their heart rhythms. We can be blind or deaf and still receive this level of communication. Ancient Kabbalist Moses Cordovero teaches us to love by recalling the good deeds others have done from the day of their birth. When someone seems unworthy of our love, he teaches, we can remember that there was a time, even when that person was in infancy, when there was no sin.

Love is power. Love is wisdom. True power is love and true wisdom is love. Yet power is not wisdom without love, and wisdom is not powerful, in the ultimate sense, without love. Love is the glue that holds everything together. It is a divine law that holds even the atoms together. Without the force of love tethering the electrons to the nucleus of the atom, we have free radicals and destruction.
Love is the force of integration that overcomes all disintegration. Love is the energy that crystallizes our actions into permanence. When the Bible says that the fire will try every man’s work of what sort it is, it is talking about love. When something that is done in love passes through the flame of love, it crystallizes into permanence. When love is lacking, the flame of love consumes the deed. Love is the Holy Spirit and the sin against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven or redeemed. Without love, all comes to naught. With love, we become immortal. We become God, for God is love.
