After nine years of organizing homes and offices, I have learned a few truths...
No matter how disorganized you are, if you have a deep and personal desire to change your habits and improve your environment, you can and you will.
"A place for everything and everything in its place" Benjamin Franklin
Before I began working as a professional organizer, I found the above quote to be somewhat trite and obvious, but over the years I have come to realize that there is incredible truth in the simplicity of those words. This quote is one of the best organizing tips around. Test me on this... spend some time creating convenient locations for each and every one of your belongings and you will see the instant results. Clean-up becomes a breeze and finally you will find what you need when you need it!
"The things that you own... end up owning you."
Clutter seems innocent, but it can contribute to (and sometimes even cause) serious issues such as injury, residential fires, marital problems, failed businesses, depression, low self-esteem, wasted time and wasted money.
"Less is more."
