Dzagbe Cudjoe was born in Chesham, England and studied at Ludwig-Maximillien University in Munich, Germany graduating with an MA in Ethnology.
Her professional experience as an ethnologist has included research and working in museums in Germany, Ghana and Nigeria. It was while conducting research into traditional religions in Ghana and Nigeria that she first became aware of the therapeutic and liberating power of Dance.
The turning point for her occurred while she was attending a physical theater and dance course at a low point in her life and the part of the course on how to transform ideas and feelings into dance allowed her to personally experience the therapeutic and restorative power of Dance.
It was at this time that she began working towards the Certificate of the Association of Dance Therapists as a Dance Therapist in the Community. Although Dzagbe had attended ballet and tap class as a child she is not a trained professional dancer. She is a member of the World Federation of Healing and this has always informed her approach to Dance Therapy. She is also a Member of the UNESCO International Dance Council CID.
Her website Dance to Health For more Information visit Dance to Health is devoted to all aspects of Dance and especially Dance and Movement Therapy for Children with Learning,Emotional and/or Physical Problems. The emphasis is on the health, creative and spiritual aspects of dance as a therapy.
Dzagbe has authored a book "Dance to Health - Help your Special Needs Child through Improvisational Dance" which is immediately downloadable via the internet. What she offers is not a cure but will bring about greater Harmony between Mind-Body-and-Spirit. . This approach fits in well with Homeschooling Pro grammes.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frighten us.
We ask ourselves,
who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us: it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela 1994 Inaugeral Speech
The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity.
Dr. Albert Einstein
Each one of us can be an oasis of Peace.
