WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE? Acupuncture-herbal medicine is rapidly growing, and is now being integrated in the Western health care system.
Many diseases and ailment that can not be cured by Western medicine can successfully be treated by acupuncture. This is especially true for chronic diseases.
Chinese herbs and acupuncture are often more tolerable than Western chemical drugs, and generally do not produce side effects.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles on the body’s surface in order to adjust the body’s energy to relieve pain and treat diseases.
The body has an energy force running throughout it. A person’s health is influenced by the flow of this energy in the body. If this flow is insufficient, unbalanced or blocked, health is disrupted, resulting in illness or pain.
The acupuncture points are specific locations where this energy can be released and regulated to restore health.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Most people find this treatment relaxing, some even fall asleep. The needles are very fine, about the diameter of a human hair, designed to be easily placed.
Successful results usually require treatment one time weekly. As results are obtained, the treatment interval is lengthened.
As in any form of healing, your attitude, diet, determination, and lifestyle will affect the outcome of the treatment. Active participation in the healing process is very important.
IS IT SAFE?
A great advantage of acupuncture is the absence of serious side effects. Only sterile, disposable needles are being used.
